September 28th 2014:
Today was my first day of volunteering. I volunteer with the Stanley park ecology society. Today we were clearing out Himalayan blackberry just by lost lagoon. It was really tough. First you have to clip off the plant, leaving about a foot of the stalk, then you dig around the stalk and pull the whole root out. It sounds simple but some of those roots are really deep. I was wearing 2 layers of gloves and I still got pocked like crazy. When I was done I did have a couple scratches here and there but nothing too bad. Afterwards I went to my friends house and we just hung out. Tomorrow's the first volleyball practice so I need to get some sleep. Bright and early wake up. Yay?????

WOW! A weekend! I can't believe it's only been a week! I didn't really do much today. I made soup for dinner and then I went to tennis. Nothing really all that special, the soup was really good though.

September 26th 2014:
I made the volleyball team!!! Although I was more confident this year than last, you can't EVER be sure since the choice is made by someone else and it's a subjective opinion whether you make the team or not. However, the first practice is Monday morning and I'm super excited.

September 25th 2014:
Today were the volleyball tryouts. It was really difficult because every time we got aced, it was 10 push-ups, we easily did 100 push-ups. To add to that I had the physical test last block, so I was already exhausted from that. However, I think I did pretty well and I had some really good hits. We'll see tomorrow if I made the team...

September 24th 2014:
It feels weird that I met all my teachers today, since it is almost October. I'm not gonna lie, the strike screwed up my internal clock. All my teachers this year seem really nice (well, I haven't met my math teacher yet, so we'll see) and it seems like its gonna be a good year.
Volleyball tryouts are tomorrow and I'm super excited. I'm really glad the volleyball season is happening since it was at risk to be cancelled because of the strike. I spent the evening watching volleyball videos (university volleyball is very entertaining) and reviewing skills.
Either way, it's a lot later than I thought it was and I need to get sleep for tomorrow... (I never know how to end these things...)
