December 31 2013:
Today I slept until 12 so I spent the rest of the day cleaning. Ya... I'm about to leave for a New Year's party and I'll blog about that tomorrow.....

December 30 2013:
Today I woke up at 11 so I decided that breakfast was pointless and that I should just eat lunch. I decided to try the udon noodle bowl that I got at Trader Joe's. It's kind of like those instant ramen noodle bowls but for udon. There were 3 components to the udon. The noodles, the broth, and the toppings. The broth and the noodles were good, not the best I've ever had, but pretty decent considering all I had to do was add some water then microwave it. The toppings, on the other hand, were pretty bad. The mushrooms were good but the tofu and the green onions were bad. Overall, I'd probably get it again but I do prefer the instant ramen to the instant udon.
So after I had some lunch my mom called and she was feeling sick so she decided to come home from work. I spent a lot of my day taking care of her, making her soup and tea, checking up on her to make sure she was okay, giving her rest... Pretty much, how I like to be treated when I'm sick.
So I watch a lot of craft videos on YouTube and one of the things that I kept seeing were decoden phone cases. There are 2 types of deco den (I'm not sure if it's decoden or deco den): pearl and whipped cream
I think you can guess which is which... So I decided that I'm going to try pearl decodening an iPhone case. So I bought all my materials on ebay and now I just have to wait for them to come in the mail. Only 10-23 business days left!

December 29 2013:
Today I went to Science world with my dad and my brother because my mom was feeling sick and we wanted to give her some space. Science world hasn't really changed their exhibits much in the past while and my family are member so we go there a lot. As a result, I was kind of bored...
After Scence World we went to 6 pack indoor beach. It's pretty much a place where you can play beach sports indoors. My dad and I played some beach volleyball. The cool thing about 6 pack is you can pay for competitive or training session and since my foot was still busted, we chose training. If you want to do competitive you can challenge other courts. The thing is, they don't really do anything to specify or show that certain courts are in training mode so we had another court challenge us and even though I kind of wanted to play against them, we couldn't (plus we didn't really want to risk injuring my foot more since there is pretty much no surface more uneven than sand).

December 28 2013:
This afternoon I played some volleyball in  my backyard with my dad because I made Thunder and today we had an optional practice. My foot is still busted from 3 weeks ago (1-3 weeks until it will be fully healed) and I haven't played volleyball in a while and I had gotten kind of rusty. We did some bumps and sets along with some serving and hitting. I'm really glad that I got to receive some hits because that really came in handy in the practice. At the practice 12 girls came and I was the only "rookie" (someone who hasn't been on Thunder in previous years). I think I made a good impression though cause we played some one-on-one and I was the overall winner. I also didn't make too many mistakes and I took care of my part in the 5 on 5 (2 girls left early).
Other than that I just played some Zelda and did some needlepoint. Here's my progress:
All I have left is the background, the out-lining/words, and the small details (sprinkles, cherry stem, ect...)

December 27 2013:
Today I went to a basketball practice from 10-12. We pretty much focused on the basics so that when're back in the competitive season we can focus on plays and more complicated technique. I didn't really do much today other than look after my brother and work on my needlepoint of the cupcake. Ya.......

December 26 2013:
I spent a large portion of today driving. First of all, we went to Michael's because my mom wanted to check for some deals on Christmas stocking cross stitch sets.Unfortunately, the store didn't have any left but I ended up buying myself a cross stitch and a needlepoint which I'm gonna hang in my room when I'm done. Here are the patterns:

Then we drove out to White Rock for a walk then it was back in the car and off to Bellingham. In Bellingham we went to Trader Joe's (for the first time ever) and bought $250 worth of stuff. In the states, that can get you a lot. We've already eaten a lot of the stuff we bought like, turkey jerky, coconut chips, and gummy tummies. Then we came home (after a long wait at the border) and we had a pork roast for dinner (which we bought at trader joe's) and did some computer programming on code.org.

December 25 2013:
CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This morning I woke up, and I realized that it was Christmas. So I got into my warm pajamas and I went to check to see if my family was up. They were so we went to check on the stockings. I got a lot of stuff in my stocking, mostly socks but my 3 favorite things from my stockings are $20 Starbucks gift card, hair doughnut  (for making hair buns), and some perfume. I got more presents than I expected. I think this Christmas and my preference in gifts proves that I am a tomboy. Although my stocking gift choices would show otherwise... Anyway, even though I got clothes, perfume, and glass figurines, my 2 favorite gifts are The Legend of Zelda; Twilight Princess and proper nike basketball shoes. The shoes look soooooooooooo cool! I can't wait to wear them on Friday.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 24 2013:

I really meant to blog yesterday since I went to the festival of lights. But since I missed the boat, here are some photos:

Now, onto today's post... TODAY WAS CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For Christmas eve I always go to my friends place and his uncles and grandma come over (needless to say, the two of us are practically family) and we have dinner and dance. And then, one of my friends' uncles goes down to the basement and dresses up like Santa and he give out gifts and tells us about his adventures. The gifts, are from us. We bring them and put them into Santas sack and then the gifts are from him. I got bubble bath that smells like bubblegum, body butter, and a set that had shower gel and a heating pack. This tradition is always so much fun and we sing carols and my friend and I, our siblings are always so happy, since they don't know who "Santa" really is yet. I'm so excited for tomorrow I don't think I'll be able to sleep!

December 22 2013:
Today I didn't really do much. I've really gotten into this show, Once upon a time. It started running in 2011 and back then I saw a commercial for it but I was too scared to watch it because for 11 year old me, who was scared of everything (I still kind of am), the ad was terrifying, yet I was still intrigued. I found it on netflix a couple days ago and today I kind of just had a marathon... Once upon a time is about Emma Swan, a 28-year-old "people finder" who is led by Henry, the boy who she gave up for adoption when she was 18, to Storybrooke. There, Henry explains to her that all the residents of Storybrooke are really fairy tale characters that can't remember who they were and that Emma is the savior who is meant to bring back the happy endings. The show features characters like Snow White/Henry's teacher, The Evil Queen/Henry's adopted mother, and Jiminy Cricket/Henry's therapist. There are also minor characters like Gepetto, Red (little red riding hood), and Cinderella. The real world is carefully interwoven with the fairy tale worlds and the suspense is a really good level for my scaredy-cat self. It keeps me watching without utterly horrifying me.
My song of the day is Ever After by Marianas Trench.

December 21 2013:
This morning I had guitar. I tried to get the most out of this lesson since I don't have class next week or the week after that. After guitar, my family went for a walk in the snow and then out for lunch. We went to Au Petit Cafe, a small, but popular Vietnamese restaurant on 33rd and main. I got the chicken, Chinese mushroom, and rice noodle soup. It had really good flavor and the mushrooms were cooked really well.
I spent the rest of the day at my Aunt's house. We talked, watched TV, drank tea, and ate cookies. What normally happens when I'm over there.
My song of the day is Monster by Imagine Dragons. I already talked about Imagine Dragons in my last post. If you want to see my opinion, go there.

December 20 2013:
I haven't blogged in such a long time it's actually kind if embarrassing...
When I woke up this morning and saw the snow I was ecstatic. I decided to walk to school and I figured the busses would be pretty backed up. I spent a lot of time outside and Amy came over and hung out after school. We obviously had a snowball fight because, who wouldn't? I'm so excited for Christmas. I think this is the first year I really get Christmas. It isn't about the gifts, it's about family. Before I would just say "Christmas is about family" so that I wouldn't seem shallow but now that I'm older I actually do believe that's what it's about and I get it now.
My song of the day is Demons by Imagine Dragons. I really like Imagine Dragons because they don't write their lyrics about love or partying, they write about internal conflict and finding yourself.

Today I did all my care package shopping. All of the stuff I bought was hygiene. I bought things like deodorant, soap, and razors. I also bought all my food supplies for my Christmas gifts.
We went to the 3rd Thunder Volleyball tryout. It was optional since I've already made the team but I wanted to go even though I couldn't play since my ankle is still healing. We watched the girls and tried to guess who was gonna make it.
My song of the is The House of the Rising Sun by Animals.

December 12 2013:
Today we had a game against Killarney. The girls played really rough and dirty and the coach was encouraging it! The Killarney coach made me so mad! I've never been so pissed off at a coach, ref, ump, or any other sports higher power as I was with him! When his team was up 10 points he called a travel that the refs didn't catch and our coach retaliated that the girl checking her had committed a fouls, he looked at our bench and did a sarcastic nail biting motion as if if the ref had called the foul it would have made SUCH a difference... I don't mind if the players play dirty but when a grown man picks on 13 year old girls, that's not cool. Also, the biggest girl on the Killarney team put one of our tiniest girls into a headlock to the point that our girl couldn't breathe and he didn't say anything to the girl about being too rough! Anyway, I'm glad I didn't play or my ankle would be completely busted.

December 10 2013:
Today during applied skills we had the secret Santa thing. I won't say who I got but I have a good idea about what to give them.
At the basketball game I couldn't play because my ankle is still swollen and sore so playing wasn't an option (unfortunately). We ended up beating Windermere 51-8 (revenge for volleyball!!!!) and it was a pretty easy game. I hope I can play on Thursday against Killarney...
My song of the day is  Story of Us by Taylor Swift.

December 9 2013:
Today I had an early morning basketball practice. It was going good until in the last 10 minutes. we were playing 5 on 5 and I jumped for the rebound and I got it, but when I landed I landed on Amy's foot and my ankle buckled and it started to really hurt. When I was changing my shoes for gym I took a look at it and it was REALLY swollen. My parent think I've sprained it and I might not be able to do sports until after winter break. That, unfortunately, means I can't play in our exhibition game tomorrow against Windermere.
Science world does this thing for their members called Tech the Halls so my family and I went they have free popcorn, cookies, hot chocolate, face painting, and balloon animals as well as full access to all the exhibits.
My song of the day is Vertigo by U2.

Displaying photo 4.JPGThey had a mini sugar shack so we got maple toffee on ice. YUM! (it's better in Quebec...) Then we went to the Olympic torch to see the giant trees.
Displaying photo 1.JPG Displaying photo.JPG After that we headed to the Hyatt to see the gingerbread houses. And we ended our adventure with going to the Four Season Hotel to see the Christmas trees.Displaying photo 2.JPGI made mushroom risotto for dinner and then we decorated our tree.

December 8 2013:
Yesterday I didn't blog because I was at a basketball tournament in Richmond and when I got home I was super tired so I went right to bed. Pretty much, we won against Cambie (37-18) and lost to Notre Dame (18-21). Last night I had a dream that we would play against people in gray jerseys and that defence would be essential. I was right both times. MacNiell was wearing grey and our defence kept a couple important shots from going in. We won, but I don't remember the score. We ended up getting a trophy for Churchill! I probably could have been more agresseive and got into the game more but that's something to work on during the major pool.
My song of the day is Pool Mashup from Pitch Perfect.

Early morning practice...We played our first scrimmage (it's about time...) and to put it nicely, we have some work to do. Unfortunately, We have a tournament tomorrow and MacNeill Secondary so we really need to pull it off as a team.
I had more thunder volleyball tryouts today but I don't think I did as well as the first tryout. We'll see what the evaluators thought and maybe my height can save me.
My song of the day is Porcelain by Marianas Trench. I really like Porcelain since it's one of their slower and sadder song on their Ever After album.

Today... REPORT CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy! I got on the honour roll!!!!!!!!! Goal for next term, principal's list. It's gonna happen...
I had fun at the potluck, it was really fun to talk with friends outside of school hours, in the school, with teachers and parents around... actually, scratch that.
Early morning basketball tomorrow. Oh yeah, I got my jersey! I really wanted 13 since it was my volleyball number and I got to the gym first but then I let Julie have it because someone else also wanted the other number she would have liked (6) so I sucked it up and got 30 instead. Which is close to 13. Thirty, thirteen, it's close!
My song of the day is  Great DJ by The Ting Tings. I don't know why, but I really like the song.

December 3 2013:
Today we had practice at 7:45 and I was tired. I started spacing out during the practice so I had to pull my self together, and focus on the drills.
We got our volleyball hoodies today (finally!). But I keep forgetting my check so I didn't get mine. I'll get it tomorrow when I bring the money.
Square dancing is actually really fun! I'm friends with a lot of the guys in my gym class so we're all laughing and skipping around and it isn't awkward at all! I thought it was gonna be awful, but it's really fun!
I finished all my non-food Christmas shopping so I have all the materials to get started. I did so much busing/sky train-ing that I think that will be my transit adventure. So many transfers!!!!
My song of the day is  Every Teardrop is a Waterfall by Coldplay. I love Coldplay, I think that they are one of the best modern bands and I think they actually might have a shot at surviving the test of time.

December 2 2013:
Today I had basketball practice. Early. I really didn't get good sleep last night so I wasn't really functioning properly. We went through a couple plays and we did some drills by that's pretty much it. The collab day tomorrow is ruined because I have practice at 7:45.
After school I went to Oakridge and did a bit of Christmas shopping for supplies and I'll do some more tomorrow. I bought something I though I needed and at home I was looking for something and I stumbled across the exact thing I had bought in perfectly good condition but I couldn't return the new one because I had already opened it to test it out. Because I didn't really do the whole "learning outcomes" thing, learning outcome: make sure you need something before you buy it.
My song of the day is Shake Tramp by Mariana's Trench. And pshhhh... Of course I listen to the clean version. Yup. Most definitely.

December 1 2013:
Today I spent my WHOLE day planning for Christmas and looking after my brother. I really want to make really high quality presents this year (yes I did say make, not buy). I prefer handmade presents infinitely to store-bought. They show so much more care and thought. The only problem is that homemade presents (at least in my case) is they cost way more than store-bought and I'm probably going to start working if I want to make all these presents. I'm not revealing any of my gifts since my parents might read this blog.
We went out for dinner and ice cream today. For dinner we went to East is East on main st. and 29th and for ice cream we went to Earnest ice cream on Fraser and King Ed. I really like Earnest ice cream and I shared a double scoop with my mom. We got cranberry walnut and vanilla.
My song of the day is Les Cloches from the Notre Dame of Paris musical. And I know I'm kind of on a streak but I've lately gotten obsessed with this musical and Les Cloches (the bells) is a very heartbreaking song about Quasimodo and how he'll never experience love because he is a "monster".
