December 31 2014:
Today was cleaning and looking after my brother. I am going to a new year's party now. BYEEE 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 30 2014:
Today I woke up sick. I was going to go to tennis, but I had NO energy and all I wanted was to recharge, drink water, and beat my awful headache. Yea, I didn't do much....

T2-B43

December 29 2014:
I had basketball at 8, and walking to the bus stop at 7:30 is hard. But, with some struggle, I got myself out of bed and went to school. After practice I went out to lunch with my parents. We went to Kingyo on Denman. It's really highly rated and received a lot of positive feedback. It is a casual Japanese restaurant than serves dishes like hot pot and sashimi. I got the december hot pot special, so you can't get it after the 1rst, but it was almost a sweeter version. I really loved how you got to cook it at your table, whereas my parents dishes got served fully cooked. Then I made dinner and dessert and if you want to read any more of my horrendous blogging go to my poorly kept, not updated http://teenchefinthekitchen.blogspot.ca/
Yup.

T2-B42

December 20 2014:
I didn't do much. Played video games...After some gaming my dad and I went swimming. Not the play around in the pool type swimming, but the distance swimming. I haven't swam lengths in a year so I was a little nervous. In the end I swam 1km, with small break, and I was even faster than my dad. Then we went to Earnest ice cream, which used to be like a hipster joint, but now it is booming in popularity. I got a scoop of gingerbread ice cream and a scoop of salted caramel. Yummmm

T2-B41

December 27 2014:
Today we were going to go for a walk, but it was raining, so my brother and I just rented some video games. Then we went to the festival of lights (I think that's what it's called) at Van Deusen with some friends. So yea, not to much happened today...

December 26 2014:
Today our good friends came over for the day. We spent the day with them! Other than that, nothing really happened...I've already thought of what I want for my birthday. I kind of like having my birthday right after Christmas because once I get my presents, I'm like a little kid, I automatically think of stuff that I want that I didn't get. Not to say that I didn't love the gifts I got, I loved them, but my brain is already whizzing with new ideas. I think I'd really love a molecular gastronomy kit. I would really love to mess around with the science of food, so, fingers crossed...

Displaying photo 2.JPGDisplaying photo 1.JPGDisplaying photo.JPG  Today was Christmas! YAY! First things first we opened stockings. To my brother I gave him soap it the shape of lego figures and batman logos. To my mom I gave her some shrinky-dink jewelry, and my dad got some bottle stoppers with ornaments (all homemade). In my stocking I got: an Indigo gift card, two basic scrunchies from Claire's, a bunch of clips from Claire's

Displaying photo 5.JPGDisplaying photo 2.JPGDisplaying photo 3.JPG
Displaying photo.JPG, an invitation to lunch with my parents to a nice Japanese restaurant, a super cute scrunchie from Claire's, a new rubber spatula (apparently my brother broke my old one, I had no idea), 2 ring molds, and elite basketball socks. I was not expecting any of these things, and I can't believe that I got this much stuff. Displaying photo 1.JPG

Displaying photo 4.JPGDisplaying photo 5.JPGDisplaying photo 3.JPGFor the main gifts, I got: edible rocks (the picture's not great, but they look super real), mini cupcake liners by wilton, a mini cupcake tin by Wilton (I already had one but I only had a 6 cupcake tin and mini cupcakes would take forever). I got these awesome shoes, the lighting was really bad, but they're really cool. I got a hot pink
 Displaying photo 1.JPG
Displaying photo 4.JPGDisplaying photo 2.JPGglue gun with glue, as well as a needle felting ornament kit. I also got trivia pursuit from Robert and an itunes gift card. I also got quality street chocolate and chocolate covered mangoes (thanks Julie for the idea). I'm so grateful for all the gift I got, I wasn't expecting ANYTHING and I'm so impressed with how well my family knows me. My parents really loved the gifts I made them including, but not limited to: a candle, a painting, and themed treats. We had friends come over and it was a wonderful Christmas.

December 24 2014:
Displaying photo.JPG  TODAY IS CHRISTMAS EVEEEEEEEEEEE! I spent the whole day in the kitchen making Christmas gift and I made cookies for a party we're going to. The house that we went to is the house of our family friends. Some people in Synergy have met Robert, he's a really good friend of mine, we've known each other since we were 6 months old, we have the same birthday, and we're really close friends. His house is the place to be on Christmas eve, it's all family but us, but the energy is high and super festive. His uncle dresses up like Santa and hands out gifts that we brought. I got some hair care products and a beautiful wallet. It's hand painted leather and I love it. I went home, put out the cookies with my brother, went him to bed and put out all the gifts. I'M SOO EXCITED!!!!

T2-B37

December 23 2014:
Today I had practice (basketball, again). Today a whole 9 girls showed up. Then I worked on Christmas presents because Christmas eve is tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

T2-B36

December 22 2014:
Today I had practice (basketball) and only 7 girls showed up. 7. We played a lot of street basketball games, which I used to play with my friends. Then I had to do some last minute Christmas shopping. It's getting really busy...

T2-B35

December 21 2014:
Day 2 of camp. We got our evealuations back and I'm devestated...I expected to do SOO much better...I'm going to share the rankings I got (these are out of 5).
  • Service Reception-2: Good Contact-Stable Position
  • Service-2: Average Serve-Many Errors
  • Over Head Set-2.5: Good Contact-Stable Position/Good Contact when moving
  • Attack-2: Good hitting with straight approach
  • Block-3: Adequate movement-good timing and hand position
  • Defence-3: Good skills when moving
  • Game Play-2: Good at applying principles-good movement.
So I was pretty crushed, even when I found out that a lot of people got 2s and 3s. I know one girl got a 4, but she's one of the best at my club. So I'm kind of glad that they didn't sugarcoat it. I'm gonna use this to light a fire and work even harder because there's an evaluation in the spring and I plan on doing WAYYY better.

T2-B34

December 20 2014:
Today I had volleyball camp from 9-12. The purpose is to give you an evaluation of your skills, and just let you get some more touches before club starts. Then I had tennis from 4-9 and I am soooooooooooooo tired, and I have camp again tomorrow....

T1-B33

December 19 2014:
Last day of school! Halleluiah! I'm stoked for the break, and I have a lot of Christmas stuff to get done; less than a week left!

T2-B32

December 18 2014:
Today I had a big math test. There were some questions were I was legitimately stumped. Time to start hoping that I did ok.....

T2-B31

December 17 2014:
Our Elton and Bernie stories were do today. I'm not happy or proud of my story so yea.... Last full day 2 of 2014... not really much to say.

T2-B30

December 16 2014:
Today we played the games in Science. There were some great games and I think the class had some fun. We had a game against PW and my whole family came. I really appreciate the fact that they take the time to come. We won, it wasn't too competitive. We have no more practice for the rest of the week so I'm gonna be off basketball for a while.

T2-B29

December 15 2014:
Today I didn;t really do much. I had basketball practice at 5. We have a game tomorrow, so it was mostly running plays.

Sunday 14 December 2014

T2-B28

December 14 2014:
This morning I was so tired because I stayed up really late working on my gingerbread house. My brother learned how to ride his trailer bike and then I worked on my game for science. I'm almost done and it looks pretty cool. Then we went to benkai ramen on broadway and cambie. It's probably not very authentic, but it tastes pretty good. Then I went to Canadian Tire to buy a ball for my brothers Christmas present. I painted it red and I'm going to paint an angry bird face on it and I'm painting cans to look like the pigs so it'll be like bowling. Now I'm going to bed  because I want to be in bed by a reasonable time today.

T2-B27

December 13 2014:
Today my family did some outdoor work. We raked, replanted grass, and other stuff. Then my brother went to a birthday party and my dad and I went to buy me some court shoes and insoles. For volleyball, I ended up buying the Mizuno Wave Lightning RX3 model. Then I bought 2 gingerbread kits. I normally like to make my own gingerbread but I just don't have time this year. My brother and I made a train and then after tennis, I made a house by myself. I stayed up really late working on it but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to food so I'm never entirely happy when it come to presentation. But overall they looked ok. I might post pictures eventually.

Friday 12 December 2014

T2-B26

December 12 2014:
Today, as I was leaving my house, I got a text from my mom. It said that I had made thunder volleyball!! This year, instead of waiting a week before regionals to sort us, they've split us into our teams from the get-go. There are some new girls, and I don't know how they play, but from the girls who played last year, personally, I think my team is stronger. Unlike last year, it's a little harder to tell A and B apart, they might actually even be evenly split teams.
After working on my board game for science with Tania (we're changing "the game of life" into either "the miracle of life" or "the game of life: sperm edition), my parents came home and we put up our Christmas tree. I love decorating the tree, I think that ranks in my top 3 Christmas activities, along with gingerbread houses and our Christmas Eve traditions. The tree looks great, the stockings are up and I've got my mini fake tree in my room, so all is well in my world for the time being and I'm joyful today.

December 11 2014:
I was so tired this morning because waking up at 6 am is not fun. During school, I was pretty tired and I had a headache, but I got through the day. I'm pretty excited/nervous for debate but I'm really happy with my partner (Julie), our topic (adolescents making their own medical decisions), and our rivals (Amber and Grace). After school I went to volunteer at the food bank with my mom's company. We sorted boxes and items into various categories and it was actually really fun. Afterwards we went for dinner to a pizza place and once I got home it was study time. I'm heading off to bed soon... Only 6 more days of school.

Wednesday 10 December 2014

T2-B24

December 10 2014:
I spent the day reviewing for the test and ultimately, I think I did ok. With the report cards, I'm kind if disappointed with my mark just because u was so close to an A in every subject in which I received a b. We didn't have practice today for basketball but we did  "team activities". We were in teams and our coach would say " I want the biggest" we would elect someone and he'd say "I want the biggest bubble gum bubble" and then the person with the bigger bubble gum bubble got a point. My team ended winning by one point and I contributed 2 points through a paper airplane and a math challenge.
The third tryout was today for club. I don't think in played very well but now it's out of my hands, I'll know the results by the end I the week. Now I'm super tired so I'm going to bed because there's 7am practice tomorrow😩.

T2-B23

December 9 2014:
Today was the English essay and I totally forgot. I had a doctors appointment in the morning so I was rushing out the door and I even forgot the book that we're writing the essay on. I think we were read the poem in applied skills because it realtes to our NPO. The whole idea that it's not about the money but what you do with it and where it takes you. After practice I studied for the dreaded science test until it was time for bed.

T2-B22

December 8 2014:
Today I had basketball at 5, so I did homework inbetween school and practice. Practice was pretty average and the. I got home, and finished up my dossier for English. I also found out that I made the first cut for club volleyball. I have a third tryout soon so hopefully I'll play well.

Sunday 7 December 2014

T2-B21

December 7 2014:
Today I went to the Santa parade. Beforehand though, my brother and I did a couple activities such as writing a letter to Santa and cookie decorating.
Then we watched the parade. I didn't get to see the whole thing because I had tryouts today. I wrote last time that I thought I could've played better but to my surprise, during the first drill, I got put on the court with all A team players, except for one, who like me was kind of in-between A and B. I had some really good digs, but also a couple shanks. We didn't really get to serve today but I missed most of my serves... However, my hitting was better and I got a couple blocks. So, fingers crossed that I'll get invited to the 3rd tryout because that means I've got a chance.

T2-B20

December 6 2014:
We got to our hotel at around midnight so I was off to bed. In the morning we had breakfast and then I went for a swim. Afterwards we went to see some of our relatives that we had never met who live in Seattle. They were really nice and they had tons of pets. They had a cat, a dog (who was adorable) and snails.

Then we went to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas the Musical. The music was really fun and they put some cool spins on the story. I left my phone in the car so I wasn't able to take any pictures but the streets were packed. Then we went to See's to buy chocolate and then we went to do some mild shopping. I actually bought my secret Santa gift and in Canada it would've been slightly over $20 but in the states it was just underneath. YAY! Then we headed home and we got home at a reasonable time and I'm going straight to bed.

Friday 5 December 2014

T2-B19

December 5 2014:
The NPO begins. We had our first competition, and I think we made 6$ profit. Yay...? I'm really glad our English essay got pushed back, because honestly, I wasn't ready. Tania and Michelle came over after school so that we could study for the infamous science test. All I can say is, we tried. After diner I packed and now I'm waiting  for my dad and my family's gonna head off to Seattle for a day.

T2-B18

December 4 2014:
Early mornin practice.... At least it wakes you up. Everyone's very taken aback by Mr. Mo's choice of how he's going to run his next test. We put ourselves into groups, then he told us we were all going to take a test and the lowest score from our group will be the score for the whole group. Personally, I don't think this is effective for teamwork and making sure everyone is on the same page, I think it's effective because, personally, I'm going to study way more, so I don't let the group down.
I had my first round of club volleyball tryouts. I think I could've played better. At least I got my jump serves in.

T2-B17

December 3 2014:
Today in art I finally finished my base sketch. The painting is going to be HUGE. The panels are 2 thirds my size in height, to give an estimation. I'm kind of nervous about the English essay, so I'm just going to re-watch the matrix

T2-B16

December 2 2014:
Today we had a game against JO. I didn't get to play all that much since I missed practice for volleyball training. Luckily, I got to play for a bit. We ended up winning by 4 points but it was a close one.

T2-B15

December 1 2014:
Back to school... On the bright side, only 3 weeks until winter break. We started our big painting project in art. Mine is going to be the Saint Basil's Church in Moscow, on 3 giant panels. If it turns out good, it'll look amazing. If it doesn't, it'll have been a big waste of time and resources.I also had pre-tryout training today for volleyball. So stressful because you know they're watching.

T2-B14

November 30 2014:
Today we had a couple people over, so I made a cake out of the book, FutureChefs. It was a banana cake with cream cheese icing and a salted caramel drizzle. The salted caramel was soooo good! We dipped apples in the extra and the saltiness and sweetness complimented the apples perfectly.

T2-B13

November 29 2014;
Today we had an exhibition game against MacNeil. We had one of the lowest scoring matches ever, I think we won 16-10. Afterwards, my family went to a really good Chinese restaurant on Broadway and Cambie called Peaceful. Next, we went to buy a jacket to replace the one I lost. I had to pay for it with my own money so I better not lose it.

Tuesday 2 December 2014

November 28 2014:
Today I got to sleep in since it was a Pro-D. We had a game at 10:15, last round of the Joker Classic. We played against Crofton, and once again, we played better than yesterday! We beat Crofton and got 4th place! We went for ice cream afterwards to celebrate! After lunch, I went over to my parent's job for TYKTWD. First, I went to my mom's office. She just started at a new firm and so we wasn't really comfortable bothering people to introduce me so she hurried me over to my dad's office, which is only a 10 minute walk away. At my dad's work, it's more casual and some of the people already know me. My dad had a meeting and then he and some other people discussed some directions to go in for the company (my dad is a CFO for a start-up company). I ended up going home a little early and spending the rest of the day doing practically nothing, because at that point, I was exhausted.

T2-B11

November 27 2014:
Today, since we lost yesterday, our game was at 8:45. I just missed my bus and I was 10 minutes late, but my coach is pretty understanding so it was all ok. We were playing Windermere and it was our best game yet. We finally won a match! On top of that I got player of the game! I really wasn't expecting it because it is a 9/10 team, but I'm glad that my coach thinks that I played really well.

T2-B10

November 26 2014:
Today was the first round of the Joker classic at John Oliver. We played against Britannia. We played much better than yesterday but we still lost, by 3 points... One of my old friends went to JO and I saw him! It was almost a shock to the system because I hadn't seen him in such a long time! We didn't get to talk much but I'll probably see him tomorrow and Friday.

T2-B9

November 25 2014:
Today was our first league game against Killarney. We weren't really ready since we've only had a couple practices. Unfortunately we lost, even more unfortunately, my jacket is nowhere to be found... *sigh*

Monday 24 November 2014

T2-B8

November 24 2012:
Today I went to school, had a math test, had a science test, and then waited. I waited because basketball didn't start until 5. A couple of the girls and I went down to the gas station and got some food while we waited. During practice we pretty much just reviewed plays since our first game is tomorrow. Killarney, fingers crossed. After bball, I was about to leave and I realized I didn't have my jacket with me. Unfortunately, I probably left it in the caf. Hopefully, tomorrow, when I go to the office, they'll have it, but I'm not holding my breath. What makes it worse is that my bike keys and my house keys were in my pocket so, yeah... My dad picked me up and I came home, and ate, and did homework. Hopefully tomorrow will turn out slightly better.

Sunday 23 November 2014

T2-B7

November 23 2014:
Today my really good friend Robert, known to some as Peter, came over. We always have a lot of fun. We spent a lot of time on the computer but hey, at least we were spending time together. Then I studied and studied and studied so yeah.

T2-B6

November 22 2014:
Today I had tennis, I didn't really do much before so yeah.

T2-B5

November 21 2014:
We had a practice for basketball today. We ran our plays and got our jerseys. I'm number 33. The uniforms are super intense. We get the continuation of the senior jerseys so they look professional. We get shorts and jerseys both light and dark. For some reason I was super tired today but I made it through the day.

T2-B4

November 20 2014:
We got 3rd in the cities! We had a couple problems. Firstly, at basketball this morning, Stefanie, one of our 1st line girl, hurt herself. She was in a wheelchair all day. Somehow though, she pulled it together and played the whole game. Secondly, Kits stepped up their game today. They actually beat us in the first set 25-11, which is huge. Somehow though, we pulled it together and beat them 25-7 which is even HUGER. And then in the 3rd set we won 25-16 and in the 4th set we won again 25-20. the 4th set was actually scary since they were up for a good portion of the set. But, we pulled through and won the bronze. Anyway I'm super tired.

T2-B3

November 19 2014:
Today were the second round of cities. We played against Killarney and we beat them easily in the 1st set. Unfortunately, the momentum/energy got shifted to the other team and they won 3-1. So we play for 3rd tomorrow against Kits. We can beat them but I think their star player, Sofia, will be more "on-point" tomorrow.

T2-B2

November 18 2014:
Today was the first round of cities. I got to be captain (oh yeah, forgot to mention, I got elected co-captain) and my whole family came to watch. We beat Hamber in 3 sets it was a pretty easy game. I came home and ate roti. I think we have a real shot at winning this year.

T2-B1

November 17 2014:
Today I had Russian and then basketball. Literally the days go by in a blur nowadays.

T1-B55

November 16 2014:
I didn't really do much today. Going to bed. Basketball tomorrow.

T1-B54

November 15 2014:
Today my dad came home from Russia. He brought back tons of food and games. I actually really missed him and I really learned to appreciate his early morning rides to practice. Then I had tennis and one of my good friends who I haven't seen in a while (we have tennis on different days) came today. We got in trouble a bit for talking too much, but I haven't seen him since the summer.

T1-B53

November 14 2014:
Today I'm sooo ready for the week to be over, I'm so exhausted. The jet lag is taking over so I'm going to bed asap.

November 13 2014:
Today, after having a long rest, I continued about my normal day. School, lunch, school, volleyball... We played the juniors today. Our 1st line beat them 25-23 and then our 2nd line and our mixed line lost. After volleyball I went over to Michelle's house and Tania, Michelle, and I worked on our socials project.
When I came home, my mom showed me a video. The video was titles Canadians React to the Ottawa Shooting Racism. The video is basically 2 teens who put on a social experiment. One was dressed in a robe and turban and then, at the bus stop, the other one began making racist remarks against the first guy. The end result is that the "racist" got punched in the face by some guy and everyone was telling him he was an awful person for saying these things. Soooo... Go Canadians!

November 11/12 2014:
So November 11 I woke up, packed and went surfing. Surfing is one of the best parts of Hawaii, that and turtles. We had lunch at a small burger place. All the burgers are named after regions in Maui. I got the Kihei burger with bacon, bbq sauce, and onions rings (on the burger, not on the side). When I got got it I honestly couldn't help but think "'Murica!". After lunch we went to the beach and shortly after we went to get shaved ice. If you're ever in Maui, go to Ulalani's shaved ice, its the best place to get it and the flavors are super good. After shaved ice it was one final trip to the beach, dinner, and the airport. The flight was ok. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep, if that.
Unfortunately, November 12, I was right off to school. School today was hard, I was just so physically and mentally exhausted that I could barely function. After school, I went home, took a nap, and then went to basketball, Oh yeah, I found out this morning that I made the team. Now I'm home, done with homework and SO ready for bed I think I might collapse right now.

November 10 2014:
Today my mom went out for a run. She she left at 8:30 saying she'd be back at 9:30. At 9:30, she wasn't back, at 10:00, she wasn't back, 10:30, she wasn't back and we got to 11:00 and she still wasn't back. At this point I was almostin full fledged panick mode. I couldn't call her, since there's no service for my phone here and so I had to just wait. Eventually she got back, turns out she got lost in the trails. Soon after, we headed to the beach.
At the beach we rented out a clear bottom kayak and my mom, my brother, and I all went out to find something of interest. We found it. There were 2 turtles (maybe the same ones as yesterday). My brother got really excited and it was really fun. After that we went for lunch, went to another beach and watched Tarzan with Oreos and steak.

November 9 2014:
Today we went to a super wave-y beach. I was going to body board but I got there, saw the waves and was like. "Yeah..... No. I don't really feel like dying today". I'll insert a picture but they were pretty big. We ate lunch on the beach and then headed back to the house. After a small break, we went down to the beach near our place. We were sitting on the beach when my mom started pointing out into the sea. "Turtle!" She said "there's two turtles super close to shore" ( my mom's obsessed with all forms of nature or wildlife). Anyway, I didn't see it. However, I have a bucket list (kind of silly, but I like it) and on it is to, and I quote "swim with dolphins, turtles, or anything, really". So I took the plunge and sure enough, right off the shore, a green sea turtle. Oh, it was so graceful... And it was so calming just to watch in swim. I excitedly told my mom and she hopped in and found it as well. After than she hopped in another time with no luck, and my second try was turtleless as well. I felt as though I could find it again, and so I swam in a general direction and I found it! I'm super happy and we finished the day off with pizza, ice cream, and Lilo & Stitch ( it seemed kind if appropriate).

T1-B47

November 8 2014:
Today I got to do one of my favourite Hawaiian activities, surfing. I'd been surfing once before but we didn't even get to paddle out since the waves weren't big enough. Today however, there was a lot of wind and the waves were a good size. I went out on a private lesson and I think I did pretty well. I got an A+ and a free rental for sometime later in our vacation. Then we got burgers and ice cream and headed home. Later we went to a waiver beach and I body boarded and I may have photo-bombed someone's wedding...accidentally... Oh well.

T1-B46

November 7 2014:
Today I landed in Maui. I made one small mistake on the plane.... I don't eat a thing. I assumed they would come by with the cart and feed us, but for some reason they didn't. So.... When I got off the flight I was practically dying of starvation. We were able to find some small grocery store and buy some food so I was fine. I got to our condo and crashed.
When I woke up in the morning we went first to a beach super close to where we are staying. It had some really cool snorkelling. After a quick lunch we went to honalua bay. My mom went snorkelling there and my brother and I took some really cool pictures, I might add some in when I get back. Lastly we went to another beach, got tacos for dinner and then came home. Today was pretty fun but I'm going surfing  tomorrow and that should be even better.

T1-B45

November 6 2014:
Today, after a shortened day at school, I flew out to Maui. Security took extra long because they didn't have enough lanes open. In addition, I had to go through one of those random security checks. Luckily, everything was all good and I got through no problem. I'm writing this from the airport since by the time I fly in to Maui it'll be Nov 7. Alright, waiting to board.

November 5th 2014:
Today our basketball tryout was cancelled because of the gym situation. Luckily for us,there was a conditioning session. I almost died. It was only an hour long and by the end, my legs could barely run up the stairs when we were running bleachers. After an excruciatingly painful bike ride home, I decided to not procrastinate and I did a bunch of homework that isn't due until the next week.

November 4 2014:
Today sleeping in was one of the best feelings ever, and I officially love collab days. I left the house, looked at my backyard and thought "This is the poster for fall right here..." and I took a picture. Taking picture is actually so satisfying, capturing the essence of something in one shot, it's pretty cool.

Displaying photo.JPG

I was so excited for our game against King George and then I heard the news that the gym flooded and our game was cancelled. I was so crushed. It's our last regular season game and chances are it'll be rescheduled to Thursday or Friday meaning I can't play because I won't be there...After school, it was business as usual. Homework, food, and sleep.

November 3 2014:
Today I had early morning practice. My dad's in Russia so I had to bike there myself. It's official, biking a 7am is not fun. After practice, I donated a copy of FutureChefs to the school, and I'm very happy. After school, we had the basketball tryouts. My layups were actually really good but my shooting was terrible and my ball handling was probably right under average. Hopefully I'll still make the team. I had to bike home afterwards. I quickly found out that biking home, uphill, at 7 pm while it's raining is even worse than biking to school. I got home, got all warmed up and now I'm excited for collab.

November 2 2014:
I mostly just cleaned today. I didn't really do much other than that.

T1-B40

November 1 2014:
Today I had volunteering. We were creating a wetland to restore then natural habitat in the park. We dug out a giant hole and filled it with clay and stone and water and mud as well as some removal of invasive species. Afterwards I didn't really do much because Stewardship is so much physical labour, it's very exhausting.

T1-B39

October 31 2014:
Today is Halloween! Using makeup, I gave myself a black eye and a bruise in the mouth, it was actually so cool. I talked to the librarian about donating a copy of FutureChefs to the school and she seemed very on-board. My brother went trick-or-treating and I kind of went along with him, I'll probably eat most of his candy... oh well.

T1-B38

October 30 2014:
Tomorrow is Halloween and I have no costume. I'll probably just paint on a black eye... I carved my pumpkin to look like Jack Skellington and it looks pretty good, if I do say so myself...

October 29 2014:
Pretty much same as yesterday, my life is so boring I shouldn't be writing anything about it...

T1-B36

October 28 2014:
I honestly have NOTHING to blog about. Sooooo....

T1-B35

October 28 2014:
Today was our big game against Kits. The anticipation was killing me. I was expecting a tough, neck in neck kind of game. In the end we beat them......... 3-0. Really Kits, really? You couldn't have put up at least a BIT of a fight???? Well now we know where all our competition lies, east side, hopefully...

T1-B34

October 27 2014:
Tomorrow is our game against Kits and I'm sooo nervous. They're our biggest competition here on the west side and they could give us a run for our money or even beat us. I guess we'll see tomorrow.

T1-B33

October 26 2014:
I was supposed to have volunteering today but I didn't RSVP in time to make it on the list. My mom ran a half marathon and did super well, good for her!

T1-B32

October 25 2014:
I literally did nothing, NOTHING. So yeah

T1-B31

October 24 2014:
My knee has been giving me issues lately so I decided to go to physio about it. Turns out, that my foot caves in (I already knew that) but that causes problems with the alignment of my body, especially my left knee and hip. So, that needs to get fixed...

T1-B30

October 23 2014:
Today we played Byng. I was kind of worried (I'm always worried) because I heard some girls say that Byng got really good so I was kind of scared. There's really wasn't much to be worried about, we beat them 3-1, which is the closest score we've had so far but I think Kits will be WAY tougher, so we better be prepared.

T1-B29

October 22 2014:
Once again, life just kind of passes by, gosh, my weekdays are so boring.

T1-B28

October 21 2014:
I'm kind of just slugging through life, just going through the motions. Practice, school, eat homework, sleep, it's really repetitive.

T1-B27

October 20 2014:
And we're back to completely normal life, I've done nothing today and I doubt I will.

T1-B26

October 19 2014:
Today I baby-sat for the first time. It's actually kind of sad that I've only ever baby-sat my brother and I've had my license for 4 years. Anyway, I looked after my brother friends a 5-year old boy and a 4-year old girl, and they are such angels. I hope I can baby-sit them again because it was actually pretty fun.

T1-B25

October 18 2014:
Today I went to an engineering thing for grade 9 girls at UBC. We did challenges, went on lab tours and got free food and to top it all off, we got swag bags! I don't think I'm inspired to become an engineer, but it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it.

T1-B24

October 17 2014:
My blogs are so boring, because my life is literally the same thing, over and over and over... same routine as always.

T1-B23

October 16 2014:
Nothing much happened today, practice, school, pretty much just the norm, nothing special.

October 15 2014:
Today in art we were talking about light in photography. That got me thinking, that when teachers say all subjects are somewhat linked, they aren't kidding! Either way, I hag volleyball practice after school and since our coach is away, no one was really focused, which really sucks. After practice, I got home an I was really hoping the book that I've been waiting for would be there, but as I pushed my bike up to my house I didn't see it. However, when I opened the screen door, I saw it lying on the other side. I love the book, FutureChefs, the recipes seem great. My culinary life seems to be falling in place, I'm working at a culinary school next summer, and now the book. I hope the positive trend continues!

October 14 2014:
Early morning practice for volleyball again!!!!! We did basic things, like hitting and passing. Then after school we had a game against Hamber. I was surprised (but very happy) that I got to be captain today. We played hard and I had some pretty good front row attacks. Although today's game was harder than Magee, we still beat Hamber in 3 sets. After the game I went home, made a great dinner and now I'm going to bed.

T1-B20

October 13 2014: So today we came back to Vancouver. We went past Silver lake and stopped there for lunch and then it was off to the border and going to home sweet home. After the border we went to the Vitala farms to see the animals and buy some fresh produce. Then we went home, I slept, nothing major

T1-B19

October 12 2014:
This morning we set off to Mt.Baker. There are apparently amazing views from the mountain so we set off in high hopes. We got there, absolute fog and it was FREEE-ZING! We went for a small hike around one of the lakes and hurried back to the car. The also stopped by one of the waterfalls and did a portion of the hike around there. Then we went back to the cabin and went out to explore. Eventually we got back, made some sausages and pasta and we went in the hot tub by the cabin. Afterwards we played some games and went to bed.

T1-B18

October 11 2014:
Today we went off to Glacier, right by Mt. Baker in the USA. It's actually super close and it only took us about 2 hours to get there. There was a slight problem though, the people we were renting out cabin from had double-booked the place so when we got to our cabin, there were already people there. There's no cell service in Glacier so we went to a close by restaurant and they were very helpful and we called the people and got a new cabin (which way WAYYY nicer than the one we were supposed to get). We came to the cabin, ate a makeshift thanksgiving dinner with chicken (turkey), mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and chocolate covered cranberries (cranberry sauce). Then went outside and roasted marshmallows on the campfire and then went off to bed.

October 10 2014:
Practice was cancelled today so I was able to come to school early to set up for my group's English presentation. We were going to use the old film projector to project our book in a film version, however, we ran out of time since our story was really long. I didn't do much today, lots of online activity. I'll be getting away from all of that though since I'm going up to Mt. Baker for thanksgiving weekend.

T1-B16

October 9 2014:
Today we had our first game of the volleyball season! We played against Magee. Our captain situation still hasn't been resolved. Our coach is gonna test out 3 different captains and then decide for the remaining portion of the season who the captain should be. Magee was an easy win. 3-0 in sets (we play best of 5). My serve was on point, and according to my teammates something on facebook was posted about me getting 15 pts on my serve in the second set alone (I don't really know, I don't have facebook). I wasn't captain today but hopefully on Tuesday I'll get the chance.

Wednesday 8 October 2014

October 8 2014:
Well, compared to yesterday, today was leaps and bounds better. The day started with me catching my skytrain and then catching the bus with perfect timing. Then after school,I was playing really well at practice and I am officially the first server on the first line (at least for now). We still don't know who our captain is and we're finding that out tomorrow, at our first game. I still haven't gotten my copy of the book, but I'm sure it's coming. Anyway, time to study for math, we have test tomorrow and I better do a whole lot better than last time.

T1-B14

October 7 2014:
Today was not my day. I started off by coming to school at 8:15 because I didn't know that it was a collab day. Then I did really poorly on a math test (I wrote the test on Friday but got the results today). And then on top of that, I lost my keys so I had to get a ride from one of my teammates after practice since I couldn't bike home. Ultimately though, I found my keys, the cookbook had it's debut and you know what, tomorrow will probably be better.

T1-B13

October 6 2014:
The day started with early morning practice. Calder Hell week is over but I'm still really sore. We also got our numbers today. I really wanted 13 but we could only get number in between 16 and 30 so I got 26. I did my school stuff after school and checked my email and... I got news about that book that I'm in. It's coming out tomorrow. The title is FutureChefs and I'm soooo excited, I should be getting a copy sometime soon. OMG!

T1-B12

October 5 2014:
Today my parents and I went up to Buntzen lake and went for a hike. We hike around the lake as well as up one of the peaks. It took us about 8 hours from start to end but if you get rid of all the breaks we took, it was 6 hours of actual hiking. So now I'm just gonna go to bed since tomorrow is morning practice and I'm excited to see if we'll know who our captain is.

T1-B11

October 4 2014:
Today I had tennis and volunteering. At volunteering, I planted trees and removed more of that stupid blackberry. Tennis was fun but I was really sore from all the volleyball. I forgot to mention in any of my posts that last week was Calder Hell week, full of fitness and the utter breakage of your muscles. Tomorrow I'm going for a hike and that should be "fun".

T1-B10

October 3 2014:
I have nothing to blog about... We didn't have volleyball today so I kind of just went home, did homework and went to bed... Wow, my life is boring...

T1-B9

October 2 2014:
3 guesses on what I had today... VOLLEYBALL! We've learned that we're only gonna have 1 captain this year (last year we had a new captain for every game). I'd really like to be captain so I'm trying to show my coach that I would be a good fit for the team. Fingers crossed....

T1-B8

October 1 2014:
My blogs are gonna be just volleyball filled from now on. Nothing really interesting happens in my life other than volleyball. We had morning practice just like Monday. That's really my life now. Volleyball, school, and necessities.

T1-B7

September 30 2014:
Today we had another practice. The team is coming to a good start. I really hope I make the first line, because you get to play wayy more during the game. I don't really know what else to say...

T1-B6

September 29 2014:
Today I had early morning practice for volleyball, I like practice, but sometimes I'm kind of tired and I don't do as well... Either way, I'm really excited the practices are rolling along smoothly. It was our first practice and I really like our team. Hopefully the season goes well.

September 28th 2014:
Today was my first day of volunteering. I volunteer with the Stanley park ecology society. Today we were clearing out Himalayan blackberry just by lost lagoon. It was really tough. First you have to clip off the plant, leaving about a foot of the stalk, then you dig around the stalk and pull the whole root out. It sounds simple but some of those roots are really deep. I was wearing 2 layers of gloves and I still got pocked like crazy. When I was done I did have a couple scratches here and there but nothing too bad. Afterwards I went to my friends house and we just hung out. Tomorrow's the first volleyball practice so I need to get some sleep. Bright and early wake up. Yay?????

T1-B4

September 27th 2014:
WOW! A weekend! I can't believe it's only been a week! I didn't really do much today. I made soup for dinner and then I went to tennis. Nothing really all that special, the soup was really good though.

T1-B3

September 26th 2014:
I made the volleyball team!!! Although I was more confident this year than last, you can't EVER be sure since the choice is made by someone else and it's a subjective opinion whether you make the team or not. However, the first practice is Monday morning and I'm super excited.

T1-B2

September 25th 2014:
Today were the volleyball tryouts. It was really difficult because every time we got aced, it was 10 push-ups, we easily did 100 push-ups. To add to that I had the physical test last block, so I was already exhausted from that. However, I think I did pretty well and I had some really good hits. We'll see tomorrow if I made the team...

September 24th 2014:
It feels weird that I met all my teachers today, since it is almost October. I'm not gonna lie, the strike screwed up my internal clock. All my teachers this year seem really nice (well, I haven't met my math teacher yet, so we'll see) and it seems like its gonna be a good year.
Volleyball tryouts are tomorrow and I'm super excited. I'm really glad the volleyball season is happening since it was at risk to be cancelled because of the strike. I spent the evening watching volleyball videos (university volleyball is very entertaining) and reviewing skills.
Either way, it's a lot later than I thought it was and I need to get sleep for tomorrow... (I never know how to end these things...)

Today I had a meet and greet with the Canadian National men's volleyball team. My team got posters signed, photos taken and we got to meet the players. Afterwards I had beach volleyball and then I came home, I was exhausted and I'm going to bed. I had a very volleyball-filled day and I'm really glad to have met the men's team.

Today I made an amazing discovery. One of my favorite drinks, Arizona iced tea, is only 99 cents at safeway. That's about a thirds of the price that most drinks are and this bottle is huge! It's nearly 3 cups of tea and it's such a good deal, and the tea is so good, and I'm soooo happy!

June 3 2014:
Today there wasn't any school, so I got to sleep. Then I did some homework. Afterwards, I decided to do a mini project. At the tryout that I attended on Sunday, I got a t-shirt. I ended up getting a large because it was the last t-shirt. I ended up cutting the sleeves, collar, and bottom off, then slicing the back and weaving it and now it looks really cool. Later today I went to beach volleyball. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play but I did work on my basic skills such as passing and setting.

Today I had a physiotherapy appointment. I went and everything looks good. My physiotherapist does want me to take more time off sports though, so although beach volleyball starts tomorrow, I'll be going to practice but I won't play until Thursday.

Today were the Baden Cup tryouts. The Baden Cup is a HP summer volleyball camp for girls all over BC. The camp is 4 days so it's 2 days of beach and 2 days of indoor. The tryouts started SUPER early, I had to wake up at 6:30 to get there on time. We played for about 2 1/2 hours, then they gave us a 2 1/2 hour break while they brought the Fraser Vally girls in, then we played for another 2 hours, and as we were leaving, the Fraser Valley girls were coming back on the courts. I wont find out for a week if I made the camp but... fingers crossed...

Provincials for ultimate were over the weekend. We came in in 13th place, we came out in 7th. Big improvement. In our last game however, I was making a cut and I heard my previously injured ankle go "pop". Next thing I knew I was being carried off the field, getting iced, and being kept from walking. I went to a physiotherapist today and pretty much, I sprained it (again), but less severely. The goal is to ice it as much as possible, get the swelling down fast. As soon as the swelling goes down I need to exercise and move my ankle right away. I'm going back to the physiotherapist in a week, hopefully I'll be good to go by then...

Today were the High Performance beach volleyball tryouts. I was super excited. It was my first time playing beach outdoors and the wind and the sun were a shock to the system. I made a good first impression by winning the first game of the day and I played decently. I could've played better but either it was enough or they saw potential because I ended up making the U14-U16 High Performance beach volleyball team. Im gonna be playing beach all summer and I'm super excited.

I haven't been blogging because I was up at Jordan Creek. There's no wi-fi or cell phone reception up where I was at. It was really nice up there, we did a lot of hiking, we were outdoors all day. We didn't camp though because 1. It's still kind of cold and 2. We're kind of scared of bears and cougars. We saw sooo much wild life there. Bears, whales, seals, sea lions (both dead and alive), minks, eagles, you name it. It was so beautiful there and I'm really glad we went.

May 13 2014:
Today was when I found out that the mayor talk and the track meet were on the same day... That poses a problem for me because I have 1 event during that time. But it is my ONLY team event. I don't want to make either of my teachers mad and I don't want to bail on my team. Its really unfortunate. After school I went to the public library and picked up two books. The passage, by Justin Cronin, for the IRP and the fault in our starsby John Green, just because. I devoured John Green novel. It isn't as good as everyone says it is, but it is a page turner and I read it in about 3 hours, I couldn't put it down. It is a very easy read, but it isn't light. The subject does get a little dark and depressing but it's fine for teens. Once again, not the best book I've ever read, I don't think it's as amazing as it's reviews, but it's a good, quick book that is a pleasant read.

May 11 2014:
Today was day 3 of nationals. My team had been going on a 15 match streak and we were confident. We start off our first match, the first set was going well. We were up by 5 points, we were going strong... And then this frail girl comes up to serve. In my mind I was thinking "She's gonna miss, it's gonna be weak, etc...". She serves, and it's a powerhouse serve and we go down in flames. We bomb the first set and in the second we were down 22-10. I thought we were done. I got subbed on, there was a new server, and we just went on a roll, we managed to bring it up to 23-20, but it was a little late and, unfortunately, we lost our first game of the day. Even worse, it was elimination, so that was our last match of the season. I cried, I was really upset because the point they won was off my block. It rolled off and no one was covering and that was that. So being the last person to touch the ball was hard on me cause I could've turned and played it or had a firmer block... It was unfortunate. I spent the rest of the day in my backyard practicing, blocks, serves, bumps, everything. Well, now it's time to train up for the beach tryouts I guess...

May 10 2014:
Day 2 of Nationals. We had a super early start, we had to be there at 8:30 am. The first match we played was against Focus (Abbotsford, BC). That match wasn't too difficult, we had played that team previously and beaten them, so it wasn't a HUGE challenge. The match did go to 3 sets though... After that we played against Altruista (Abbotsford, BC). We had played against them in the past too, and we won in 3 sets. It was actually pretty stressfull. Lastly, we played against Rain City (Surrey, BC) That match was ok. We won but I can't remember if it was in 2 or 3 sets. Either way, we're still in the running for gold tomorrow and all we have to do is work hard, have fun, and play like we can.

May 9 2014:
Today was the first day of nationals. I woke up, had breakfast, got ready, and carpooled with two of my teammates to the tradex center in Abbotsford. Our first match was against the Canadian west volleyball club (Calgary, AB). It wasn't too difficult, we won in two sets. After that we played against Air Attack (Richmond, BC). Also an easy two setter. After some lunch/dinner, I went to Memphis Blues and got the best pulled pork sandwich with fries ever, we had our final match. We were playing against Bisons (Winnipeg, MB). The first set was easy. The second set however, was much more difficult. They were actually leading 21-19 (a set goes to 25) and then they subbed me on, and we started a roll. We ended up winning 26-24. I was really happy leaving because 1. we set ourselves up for a good spot for tomorrow 2. My childhood friend came with her team from Calgary 3. I bought an awesome shirt that I am in love with. Time for bed cause tomoroow is a 9am start. Yay...?

Today I had ultimate after school. In the rain. I didn't actually mind the rain, it was more the cold that was really annoying. We ended up beating Windermere by a lot, 12-4, something like that and we just scraped into cities (8th out of 8).

Today was collab! YEEEEEEEEEEES! After school I had ultimate and not very many people showed up today. It's strange because cities are on friday... After ultimate I went to play tennis with my dad. I'm really out of practice and I was getting really frustrated. Once a week is definitely not enough. After that, I had dinner, did homework, and ate more food. Yeah, a pretty normal day

Today it was back to school, and back to cramming for tests (Mr.Olson insisted that it's not good for us though). I'm pretty sure I bombed to socials test, but we'll see what happens... After I came home, I made angel food cake cupcakes with lemon glaze. They were super yummy! After that, I had volleyball (last practice of the season).   I'm finding blogging to be a lot more difficult in term 3. I don't know why though... Today I went to the baker's market and it was the last day of the year. We bought so much stuff and we ate it in one day. It's kind of sad... I made lamb burgers for lunch with a side of coleslaw. After lunch it was study, study, study for the socials test tomorrow. I'm actually not as worried as I normally am, but then again, whenever I'm not nervous, I tend to do worse... I guess I'll see how this goes...

Today was a Pro-D day. YAY! But I woke up early anyway because I wasn't aware that the education forum thing was cancelled, so I showed up, and no one was there. Oh well. Later I had my first round of playoffs for tennis. They were against PG and, unfortunately, we lost. So... the tennis season is officially over. Right after tennis, I had volleyball. And I was sore from the sun run and tired from tennis and of course this is the practice where we do a full dynamic AND conditioning. I could barely hold myself up on my one-armed plank, especially when we had to lift one leg off the ground. We were doing sit-ups, push-ups, blocking drills, you name it, we did it. So now I'm going to sleep because I am soooooooooooo tired.

Today was the sun run. Man, it was packed! There were soooo many people that it was kind of overwhelming... I loved it though. The atmosphere and the music and everyone cheering made the run really pleasant. I ran the whole way and I'm really proud of my time, 0:56:31. For my first year, without training, that's pretty good. Imagine my time next year when I train.
I slept for the rest of the day because I was exhausted after the late night yesterday and then the run.

April 26 2014:
Today was day 2 of provincials. Today was for rankings, for medals and my team was really pumped. We won our first two games with a little bit of struggle. The first one went to 3 sets and the second one we won 24-26, 24-26. During the second game it was 24-24 in the second set. I spiked it, and it was going WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY out. But, luckily, one of the girls on the other team nicked it with her arm and we got the point. Then I was up to serve. I served, and they didn't return it. There was soooooooooo much screaming I thought I was gonna go deaf. Our third game was for the gold medal for Division 3. Surprisingly, it was the easiest game of the day. We ended up winning gold and going undefeated this whole tournament. We left our house at 1:45 and I got home a 11:05. It was a really long, but good, day and hopefully we play this well at Nationals.
