May 26 2014:
Provincials for ultimate were over the weekend. We came in in 13th place, we came out in 7th. Big improvement. In our last game however, I was making a cut and I heard my previously injured ankle go "pop". Next thing I knew I was being carried off the field, getting iced, and being kept from walking. I went to a physiotherapist today and pretty much, I sprained it (again), but less severely. The goal is to ice it as much as possible, get the swelling down fast. As soon as the swelling goes down I need to exercise and move my ankle right away. I'm going back to the physiotherapist in a week, hopefully I'll be good to go by then...

May 23 2014:
Today were the High Performance beach volleyball tryouts. I was super excited. It was my first time playing beach outdoors and the wind and the sun were a shock to the system. I made a good first impression by winning the first game of the day and I played decently. I could've played better but either it was enough or they saw potential because I ended up making the U14-U16 High Performance beach volleyball team. Im gonna be playing beach all summer and I'm super excited.

May 19 2014:
I haven't been blogging because I was up at Jordan Creek. There's no wi-fi or cell phone reception up where I was at. It was really nice up there, we did a lot of hiking, we were outdoors all day. We didn't camp though because 1. It's still kind of cold and 2. We're kind of scared of bears and cougars. We saw sooo much wild life there. Bears, whales, seals, sea lions (both dead and alive), minks, eagles, you name it. It was so beautiful there and I'm really glad we went.

Today was the Grade 8 Track meet. I think I did pretty well. I got two first place ribbons and a fourth place in my track events. I'm not sure what I got in my field event though. I'm really glad we got to go, it was a lot of fun.

May 13 2014:
Today was when I found out that the mayor talk and the track meet were on the same day... That poses a problem for me because I have 1 event during that time. But it is my ONLY team event. I don't want to make either of my teachers mad and I don't want to bail on my team. Its really unfortunate. After school I went to the public library and picked up two books. The passage, by Justin Cronin, for the IRP and the fault in our starsby John Green, just because. I devoured John Green novel. It isn't as good as everyone says it is, but it is a page turner and I read it in about 3 hours, I couldn't put it down. It is a very easy read, but it isn't light. The subject does get a little dark and depressing but it's fine for teens. Once again, not the best book I've ever read, I don't think it's as amazing as it's reviews, but it's a good, quick book that is a pleasant read.

May 11 2014:
Today was day 3 of nationals. My team had been going on a 15 match streak and we were confident. We start off our first match, the first set was going well. We were up by 5 points, we were going strong... And then this frail girl comes up to serve. In my mind I was thinking "She's gonna miss, it's gonna be weak, etc...". She serves, and it's a powerhouse serve and we go down in flames. We bomb the first set and in the second we were down 22-10. I thought we were done. I got subbed on, there was a new server, and we just went on a roll, we managed to bring it up to 23-20, but it was a little late and, unfortunately, we lost our first game of the day. Even worse, it was elimination, so that was our last match of the season. I cried, I was really upset because the point they won was off my block. It rolled off and no one was covering and that was that. So being the last person to touch the ball was hard on me cause I could've turned and played it or had a firmer block... It was unfortunate. I spent the rest of the day in my backyard practicing, blocks, serves, bumps, everything. Well, now it's time to train up for the beach tryouts I guess...

May 10 2014:
Day 2 of Nationals. We had a super early start, we had to be there at 8:30 am. The first match we played was against Focus (Abbotsford, BC). That match wasn't too difficult, we had played that team previously and beaten them, so it wasn't a HUGE challenge. The match did go to 3 sets though... After that we played against Altruista (Abbotsford, BC). We had played against them in the past too, and we won in 3 sets. It was actually pretty stressfull. Lastly, we played against Rain City (Surrey, BC) That match was ok. We won but I can't remember if it was in 2 or 3 sets. Either way, we're still in the running for gold tomorrow and all we have to do is work hard, have fun, and play like we can.

May 9 2014:
Today was the first day of nationals. I woke up, had breakfast, got ready, and carpooled with two of my teammates to the tradex center in Abbotsford. Our first match was against the Canadian west volleyball club (Calgary, AB). It wasn't too difficult, we won in two sets. After that we played against Air Attack (Richmond, BC). Also an easy two setter. After some lunch/dinner, I went to Memphis Blues and got the best pulled pork sandwich with fries ever, we had our final match. We were playing against Bisons (Winnipeg, MB). The first set was easy. The second set however, was much more difficult. They were actually leading 21-19 (a set goes to 25) and then they subbed me on, and we started a roll. We ended up winning 26-24. I was really happy leaving because 1. we set ourselves up for a good spot for tomorrow 2. My childhood friend came with her team from Calgary 3. I bought an awesome shirt that I am in love with. Time for bed cause tomoroow is a 9am start. Yay...?

May 8 2014:
Today I had ultimate after school. In the rain. I didn't actually mind the rain, it was more the cold that was really annoying. We ended up beating Windermere by a lot, 12-4, something like that and we just scraped into cities (8th out of 8).

May 6 2014:
Today was collab! YEEEEEEEEEEES! After school I had ultimate and not very many people showed up today. It's strange because cities are on friday... After ultimate I went to play tennis with my dad. I'm really out of practice and I was getting really frustrated. Once a week is definitely not enough. After that, I had dinner, did homework, and ate more food. Yeah, a pretty normal day

May 5 2014:
Today it was back to school, and back to cramming for tests (Mr.Olson insisted that it's not good for us though). I'm pretty sure I bombed to socials test, but we'll see what happens... After I came home, I made angel food cake cupcakes with lemon glaze. They were super yummy! After that, I had volleyball (last practice of the season). Nationals are this weekend and I'm really excited. Then I came home, ate food and did homework, so it's pretty much like every other day.

May 4 2014:
I'm finding blogging to be a lot more difficult in term 3. I don't know why though... Today I went to the baker's market and it was the last day of the year. We bought so much stuff and we ate it in one day. It's kind of sad... I made lamb burgers for lunch with a side of coleslaw. After lunch it was study, study, study for the socials test tomorrow. I'm actually not as worried as I normally am, but then again, whenever I'm not nervous, I tend to do worse... I guess I'll see how this goes...
