December 30 2014:
Today I woke up sick. I was going to go to tennis, but I had NO energy and all I wanted was to recharge, drink water, and beat my awful headache. Yea, I didn't do much....

T2-B43

December 29 2014:
I had basketball at 8, and walking to the bus stop at 7:30 is hard. But, with some struggle, I got myself out of bed and went to school. After practice I went out to lunch with my parents. We went to Kingyo on Denman. It's really highly rated and received a lot of positive feedback. It is a casual Japanese restaurant than serves dishes like hot pot and sashimi. I got the december hot pot special, so you can't get it after the 1rst, but it was almost a sweeter version. I really loved how you got to cook it at your table, whereas my parents dishes got served fully cooked. Then I made dinner and dessert and if you want to read any more of my horrendous blogging go to my poorly kept, not updated http://teenchefinthekitchen.blogspot.ca/
Yup.

December 20 2014:
I didn't do much. Played video games...After some gaming my dad and I went swimming. Not the play around in the pool type swimming, but the distance swimming. I haven't swam lengths in a year so I was a little nervous. In the end I swam 1km, with small break, and I was even faster than my dad. Then we went to Earnest ice cream, which used to be like a hipster joint, but now it is booming in popularity. I got a scoop of gingerbread ice cream and a scoop of salted caramel. Yummmm

T2-B41

December 27 2014:
Today we were going to go for a walk, but it was raining, so my brother and I just rented some video games. Then we went to the festival of lights (I think that's what it's called) at Van Deusen with some friends. So yea, not to much happened today...

December 26 2014:
Today our good friends came over for the day. We spent the day with them! Other than that, nothing really happened...I've already thought of what I want for my birthday. I kind of like having my birthday right after Christmas because once I get my presents, I'm like a little kid, I automatically think of stuff that I want that I didn't get. Not to say that I didn't love the gifts I got, I loved them, but my brain is already whizzing with new ideas. I think I'd really love a molecular gastronomy kit. I would really love to mess around with the science of food, so, fingers crossed...

Displaying photo 2.JPGDisplaying photo 1.JPGDisplaying photo.JPG  Today was Christmas! YAY! First things first we opened stockings. To my brother I gave him soap it the shape of lego figures and batman logos. To my mom I gave her some shrinky-dink jewelry, and my dad got some bottle stoppers with ornaments (all homemade). In my stocking I got: an Indigo gift card, two basic scrunchies from Claire's, a bunch of clips from Claire's

Displaying photo.JPG, an invitation to lunch with my parents to a nice Japanese restaurant, a super cute scrunchie from Claire's, a new rubber spatula (apparently my brother broke my old one, I had no idea), 2 ring molds, and elite basketball socks. I was not expecting any of these things, and I can't believe that I got this much stuff. Displaying photo 1.JPG

Displaying photo 4.JPGDisplaying photo 5.JPGDisplaying photo 3.JPGFor the main gifts, I got: edible rocks (the picture's not great, but they look super real), mini cupcake liners by wilton, a mini cupcake tin by Wilton (I already had one but I only had a 6 cupcake tin and mini cupcakes would take forever). I got these awesome shoes, the lighting was really bad, but they're really cool. I got a hot pink
 Displaying photo 1.JPG
Displaying photo 4.JPGDisplaying photo 2.JPGglue gun with glue, as well as a needle felting ornament kit. I also got trivia pursuit from Robert and an itunes gift card. I also got quality street chocolate and chocolate covered mangoes (thanks Julie for the idea). I'm so grateful for all the gift I got, I wasn't expecting ANYTHING and I'm so impressed with how well my family knows me. My parents really loved the gifts I made them including, but not limited to: a candle, a painting, and themed treats. We had friends come over and it was a wonderful Christmas.

December 24 2014:
Displaying photo.JPG  TODAY IS CHRISTMAS EVEEEEEEEEEEE! I spent the whole day in the kitchen making Christmas gift and I made cookies for a party we're going to. The house that we went to is the house of our family friends. Some people in Synergy have met Robert, he's a really good friend of mine, we've known each other since we were 6 months old, we have the same birthday, and we're really close friends. His house is the place to be on Christmas eve, it's all family but us, but the energy is high and super festive. His uncle dresses up like Santa and hands out gifts that we brought. I got some hair care products and a beautiful wallet. It's hand painted leather and I love it. I went home, put out the cookies with my brother, went him to bed and put out all the gifts. I'M SOO EXCITED!!!!

T2-B37

December 23 2014:
Today I had practice (basketball, again). Today a whole 9 girls showed up. Then I worked on Christmas presents because Christmas eve is tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

T2-B36

December 22 2014:
Today I had practice (basketball) and only 7 girls showed up. 7. We played a lot of street basketball games, which I used to play with my friends. Then I had to do some last minute Christmas shopping. It's getting really busy...

T2-B35

December 21 2014:
Day 2 of camp. We got our evealuations back and I'm devestated...I expected to do SOO much better...I'm going to share the rankings I got (these are out of 5).
  • Service Reception-2: Good Contact-Stable Position
  • Service-2: Average Serve-Many Errors
  • Over Head Set-2.5: Good Contact-Stable Position/Good Contact when moving
  • Attack-2: Good hitting with straight approach
  • Block-3: Adequate movement-good timing and hand position
  • Defence-3: Good skills when moving
  • Game Play-2: Good at applying principles-good movement.
So I was pretty crushed, even when I found out that a lot of people got 2s and 3s. I know one girl got a 4, but she's one of the best at my club. So I'm kind of glad that they didn't sugarcoat it. I'm gonna use this to light a fire and work even harder because there's an evaluation in the spring and I plan on doing WAYYY better.

T2-B34

December 20 2014:
Today I had volleyball camp from 9-12. The purpose is to give you an evaluation of your skills, and just let you get some more touches before club starts. Then I had tennis from 4-9 and I am soooooooooooooo tired, and I have camp again tomorrow....

T1-B33

December 19 2014:
Last day of school! Halleluiah! I'm stoked for the break, and I have a lot of Christmas stuff to get done; less than a week left!

T2-B32

December 18 2014:
Today I had a big math test. There were some questions were I was legitimately stumped. Time to start hoping that I did ok.....

T2-B31

December 17 2014:
Our Elton and Bernie stories were do today. I'm not happy or proud of my story so yea.... Last full day 2 of 2014... not really much to say.

T2-B30

December 16 2014:
Today we played the games in Science. There were some great games and I think the class had some fun. We had a game against PW and my whole family came. I really appreciate the fact that they take the time to come. We won, it wasn't too competitive. We have no more practice for the rest of the week so I'm gonna be off basketball for a while.

T2-B29

December 15 2014:
Today I didn;t really do much. I had basketball practice at 5. We have a game tomorrow, so it was mostly running plays.

Sunday 14 December 2014

December 14 2014:
This morning I was so tired because I stayed up really late working on my gingerbread house. My brother learned how to ride his trailer bike and then I worked on my game for science. I'm almost done and it looks pretty cool. Then we went to benkai ramen on broadway and cambie. It's probably not very authentic, but it tastes pretty good. Then I went to Canadian Tire to buy a ball for my brothers Christmas present. I painted it red and I'm going to paint an angry bird face on it and I'm painting cans to look like the pigs so it'll be like bowling. Now I'm going to bed  because I want to be in bed by a reasonable time today.

T2-B27

December 13 2014:
Today my family did some outdoor work. We raked, replanted grass, and other stuff. Then my brother went to a birthday party and my dad and I went to buy me some court shoes and insoles. For volleyball, I ended up buying the Mizuno Wave Lightning RX3 model. Then I bought 2 gingerbread kits. I normally like to make my own gingerbread but I just don't have time this year. My brother and I made a train and then after tennis, I made a house by myself. I stayed up really late working on it but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to food so I'm never entirely happy when it come to presentation. But overall they looked ok. I might post pictures eventually.

December 12 2014:
Today, as I was leaving my house, I got a text from my mom. It said that I had made thunder volleyball!! This year, instead of waiting a week before regionals to sort us, they've split us into our teams from the get-go. There are some new girls, and I don't know how they play, but from the girls who played last year, personally, I think my team is stronger. Unlike last year, it's a little harder to tell A and B apart, they might actually even be evenly split teams.
After working on my board game for science with Tania (we're changing "the game of life" into either "the miracle of life" or "the game of life: sperm edition), my parents came home and we put up our Christmas tree. I love decorating the tree, I think that ranks in my top 3 Christmas activities, along with gingerbread houses and our Christmas Eve traditions. The tree looks great, the stockings are up and I've got my mini fake tree in my room, so all is well in my world for the time being and I'm joyful today.

December 11 2014:
I was so tired this morning because waking up at 6 am is not fun. During school, I was pretty tired and I had a headache, but I got through the day. I'm pretty excited/nervous for debate but I'm really happy with my partner (Julie), our topic (adolescents making their own medical decisions), and our rivals (Amber and Grace). After school I went to volunteer at the food bank with my mom's company. We sorted boxes and items into various categories and it was actually really fun. Afterwards we went for dinner to a pizza place and once I got home it was study time. I'm heading off to bed soon... Only 6 more days of school.

December 10 2014:
I spent the day reviewing for the test and ultimately, I think I did ok. With the report cards, I'm kind if disappointed with my mark just because u was so close to an A in every subject in which I received a b. We didn't have practice today for basketball but we did  "team activities". We were in teams and our coach would say " I want the biggest" we would elect someone and he'd say "I want the biggest bubble gum bubble" and then the person with the bigger bubble gum bubble got a point. My team ended winning by one point and I contributed 2 points through a paper airplane and a math challenge.
The third tryout was today for club. I don't think in played very well but now it's out of my hands, I'll know the results by the end I the week. Now I'm super tired so I'm going to bed because there's 7am practice tomorrow😩.

T2-B23

December 9 2014:
Today was the English essay and I totally forgot. I had a doctors appointment in the morning so I was rushing out the door and I even forgot the book that we're writing the essay on. I think we were read the poem in applied skills because it realtes to our NPO. The whole idea that it's not about the money but what you do with it and where it takes you. After practice I studied for the dreaded science test until it was time for bed.

T2-B22

December 8 2014:
Today I had basketball at 5, so I did homework inbetween school and practice. Practice was pretty average and the. I got home, and finished up my dossier for English. I also found out that I made the first cut for club volleyball. I have a third tryout soon so hopefully I'll play well.

Sunday 7 December 2014

December 7 2014:
Today I went to the Santa parade. Beforehand though, my brother and I did a couple activities such as writing a letter to Santa and cookie decorating.
Then we watched the parade. I didn't get to see the whole thing because I had tryouts today. I wrote last time that I thought I could've played better but to my surprise, during the first drill, I got put on the court with all A team players, except for one, who like me was kind of in-between A and B. I had some really good digs, but also a couple shanks. We didn't really get to serve today but I missed most of my serves... However, my hitting was better and I got a couple blocks. So, fingers crossed that I'll get invited to the 3rd tryout because that means I've got a chance.

December 6 2014:
We got to our hotel at around midnight so I was off to bed. In the morning we had breakfast and then I went for a swim. Afterwards we went to see some of our relatives that we had never met who live in Seattle. They were really nice and they had tons of pets. They had a cat, a dog (who was adorable) and snails.

Then we went to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas the Musical. The music was really fun and they put some cool spins on the story. I left my phone in the car so I wasn't able to take any pictures but the streets were packed. Then we went to See's to buy chocolate and then we went to do some mild shopping. I actually bought my secret Santa gift and in Canada it would've been slightly over $20 but in the states it was just underneath. YAY! Then we headed home and we got home at a reasonable time and I'm going straight to bed.

December 5 2014:
The NPO begins. We had our first competition, and I think we made 6$ profit. Yay...? I'm really glad our English essay got pushed back, because honestly, I wasn't ready. Tania and Michelle came over after school so that we could study for the infamous science test. All I can say is, we tried. After diner I packed and now I'm waiting  for my dad and my family's gonna head off to Seattle for a day.

T2-B18

December 4 2014:
Early mornin practice.... At least it wakes you up. Everyone's very taken aback by Mr. Mo's choice of how he's going to run his next test. We put ourselves into groups, then he told us we were all going to take a test and the lowest score from our group will be the score for the whole group. Personally, I don't think this is effective for teamwork and making sure everyone is on the same page, I think it's effective because, personally, I'm going to study way more, so I don't let the group down.
I had my first round of club volleyball tryouts. I think I could've played better. At least I got my jump serves in.

T2-B17

December 3 2014:
Today in art I finally finished my base sketch. The painting is going to be HUGE. The panels are 2 thirds my size in height, to give an estimation. I'm kind of nervous about the English essay, so I'm just going to re-watch the matrix

T2-B16

December 2 2014:
Today we had a game against JO. I didn't get to play all that much since I missed practice for volleyball training. Luckily, I got to play for a bit. We ended up winning by 4 points but it was a close one.

T2-B15

December 1 2014:
Back to school... On the bright side, only 3 weeks until winter break. We started our big painting project in art. Mine is going to be the Saint Basil's Church in Moscow, on 3 giant panels. If it turns out good, it'll look amazing. If it doesn't, it'll have been a big waste of time and resources.I also had pre-tryout training today for volleyball. So stressful because you know they're watching.

T2-B14

November 30 2014:
Today we had a couple people over, so I made a cake out of the book, FutureChefs. It was a banana cake with cream cheese icing and a salted caramel drizzle. The salted caramel was soooo good! We dipped apples in the extra and the saltiness and sweetness complimented the apples perfectly.

T2-B13

November 29 2014;
Today we had an exhibition game against MacNeil. We had one of the lowest scoring matches ever, I think we won 16-10. Afterwards, my family went to a really good Chinese restaurant on Broadway and Cambie called Peaceful. Next, we went to buy a jacket to replace the one I lost. I had to pay for it with my own money so I better not lose it.

November 28 2014:
Today I got to sleep in since it was a Pro-D. We had a game at 10:15, last round of the Joker Classic. We played against Crofton, and once again, we played better than yesterday! We beat Crofton and got 4th place! We went for ice cream afterwards to celebrate! After lunch, I went over to my parent's job for TYKTWD. First, I went to my mom's office. She just started at a new firm and so we wasn't really comfortable bothering people to introduce me so she hurried me over to my dad's office, which is only a 10 minute walk away. At my dad's work, it's more casual and some of the people already know me. My dad had a meeting and then he and some other people discussed some directions to go in for the company (my dad is a CFO for a start-up company). I ended up going home a little early and spending the rest of the day doing practically nothing, because at that point, I was exhausted.

T2-B11

November 27 2014:
Today, since we lost yesterday, our game was at 8:45. I just missed my bus and I was 10 minutes late, but my coach is pretty understanding so it was all ok. We were playing Windermere and it was our best game yet. We finally won a match! On top of that I got player of the game! I really wasn't expecting it because it is a 9/10 team, but I'm glad that my coach thinks that I played really well.

T2-B10

November 26 2014:
Today was the first round of the Joker classic at John Oliver. We played against Britannia. We played much better than yesterday but we still lost, by 3 points... One of my old friends went to JO and I saw him! It was almost a shock to the system because I hadn't seen him in such a long time! We didn't get to talk much but I'll probably see him tomorrow and Friday.

T2-B9

November 25 2014:
Today was our first league game against Killarney. We weren't really ready since we've only had a couple practices. Unfortunately we lost, even more unfortunately, my jacket is nowhere to be found... *sigh*
