November 30 2013:
Today I had guitar and swimming and I'll have to cancel both for next week since I have a basketball tournament. I'm going to perform Fast Car for a guitar recital in a couple weeks.
I worked on my brothers Christmas present and since he can't read, I can reveal what it is. I'm making a Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coloring book. I'm done 1/3 of it, so I'll be done by Christmas. Only 25 days left! Advent calendars get opened tomorrow!
My song of the day is Belle from the Notre Dame de Paris musical. And I know the whole musical was my song of the day yesterday but... Belle is awesome and the harmonies are epic. I also love how much it reveals about the individual characters.

November 29 2013:
Today was our wrap up party for volleyball so the team went to Cactus Club Cafe on Granville and Broadway. We had a reservation but the group before us was taking a really long time so we got free appetizers as a compromise. I made cupcakes and they were a big hit. They were all gone in a flash. I made 14 numbers (One for each girl), 6 volleyballs (since we had 6 practice balls), and 4 bulldogs (cause I like our school logo).
My song of the day is the whole Notre Dame de Paris musical. My favorite is the 1999 production that you can find on YouTube

November 27 2013:
I am so exhausted after basketball today. After this post goes up, I'm going to bed immediately. The basketball practices are a lot more difficult than the volleyball practices in the sense that we are running a lot more, it's more about conditioning, and you have less court to cover in volleyball.
The whole fine arts situation is annoying. The fact that there is no alternative for people who already know how to play guitar make the class boring. It's not like I'm the ONLY person who's gone through the fine arts rotation and has known how to play guitar (there's 2 other people in my class that know how). The teacher did mention that a possibility might be that I help teach the other students so that I'm not just re-learning a D chord.
My song of the day is Twist and Shout by the Beatles. That was the song we learned in performance arts today.

November 26 2013:
Today we had the Gr. 7s from GG come to visit Synergy. Some of my really good friends came but I was really caught off guard since no one told me they were coming. Even more annoying was that I had felt bad all weekend because I didn't organize it and that my friends were missing out when Niki had already organized it.
Today were the thunder tryouts. I had to miss basketball to go but I think it was worth it. What I mean by thunder is the U14 UBC Thunderbirds volleyball high performance/competition team. I have been branded with the number 53 on both legs. About 65 girls tried out and they're taking 26-30 girls. I'm really hoping my height helps me out since I was a lot taller than most of the girls. The people that were taller than me were only taller by about an inch, at the most, sooooo... we'll see.
My song of the day is Cry by Alexx Calise. I think that I'll learn that for guitar and perform it for a recital that's coming up.

November 24 2013:
I haven't blogged in a while because I've needed a break. I'm a bit overwhelmed because of the end of the term and I'm a bit stressed out since I've never had grades before. I made the basketball team and I have a practice tomorrow. I hope I'm up to the challenge since there are a lot of really good girls on the team.
I've been cooking a lot which calms me down so it's a good escape. I made a gumbo with okra and shrimp but it wasn't very traditional since it wasn't very spicy. It was really good and I like the comfort style food.
I'm trying out for thunder volleyball on Tuesday and I'm really nervous because I doubt that I'll make the team.
My song of the day is Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne.

November 20 2013:
Today after school...Round 2 of basketball tryouts. I wasn't nearly as tired as I was the first time. We did sprints, layups, scrims, drills, passing. Everything. In the end only 20 girls made the cut. I'm so glad I got through! There's another tryout tomorrow morining so we'll see how that goes.
I made dinner today today and it was okay... I made chicken fajitas but I burned the chicken just a tiny bit. The end product was still pretty good and it will make a good lunch.
My song of the day is Bethamphetimine (Pretty Pretty) By Butch Walker. I first looked it up cause Avril Lavigne is in the music video but I ended up really liking the song!

November 19 2013:
I'm not quite sure what the deal with the whole T1/T2 thing is. Term 1 doesn't end until Thursday but if I understood correctly, Mr.Olson wants us to start labeling our blog as T2. Anyway...
I didn't really do much today since the socials project is due tomorrow. I have more basketball tryouts tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully I make the team.
My song of the day is What Does It Take by Dave Days. Dave is awesome, he's on YouTube and his music is really great. I really like it because it's very "guitar-based" and it makes it less confusing to learn on the guitar since the guitar is the core instrument.

November 18 2013:
I feel that today's blog has to be written from my POV instead of my parents since it has something to do with previous empathy blogs.
When I was blogging for Jonathan, he was going through the basketball tryouts. This morning was the first round of tryouts for the bantam girls. Everything he said about his body just aching and wanting to shut down I understand now. I forgot to drink something before I left the house so after we did some sprints my vision was going black and all the sounds were fading away into a buzz. I got some water and I was able to snap out of it but it was kind of scary... So many girls thought that they were going to puke or they hurt themselves that I think today's tryout was solely about endurance.
It was raining today and I didn't have a coat so I was really lucky that Darryl lent me his umbrella. I was pretty wet when I got home but I would have been drenched without one. THANK YOU DARRYL!!!!!
My song of the day is Price Tag by Jessie J. We were singing it in applied skills and it's an awesome song.

November 14 2013:
I'm blogging for my mom (day 3).
Anton was really getting on my nerves this morning. I was so nervous because I thought I was going to be late for an appointment that I had at work. I was really flustered and I lost my temper a bit.
My day was going as usual when Sasha called me from volleyball. I talked to her and the won against Kits! I was so happy since Kits beat them 3-2 last time and the girls came back from 2-0 and won 3 sets in a row. It's really sad that the volleyball season is over since I was really into it. If Sasha doesn't make it onto the basketball team, I'm going to encourage her to try out for club volleyball. I was so proud of Sasha since Churchill got 3rd in the city.
I was a bit confused to receive a call from the school saying Sasha missed last block since she said that she told Mr.Olson about missing his class. Hopefully she did everything properly and she can correct the mistake.

Day 2 of blogging for my mom
This morning Anton was being very difficult. He did not want to wake up and later tonight he didn't want to go to bed.
Sasha unfortunately lost her volleyball game so Churchill is playing for 3rd place tomorrow. She made a great dinner though with mashed yams and hot dogs.
I'm going to drive Sasha to school tomorrow so as long as she's ready on time, it will be fine. I'm gonna go read now...

November 12 2013:
I'm blogging for my mom. Hopefully this goes well.
After taking Anton to daycare I got to work on time and ready to go. I find my job isn't as challenging as I would like. Nothing special happened at the office.
I went to go pick up Anton and then I headed off to Sasha's volleyball game. They were playing against Britannia in the first round of cities. This is the third game I've been to but this is the first one that I've seen Churchill win. I was really proud of Sasha because she had some amazing serves and was really contributing to the team.
We came home after the game, had dinner, and then I just relaxed. Sasha has been spending a lot of time on her project which she says is due on Thursday. Due to her previous history with getting projects done on time, I hope she's on track and got it under control.

November 11 2013:
Okay, back to blogging like normal. It was really cool to put myself into someone elses shoes for a week.
My friend from Victoria came over and I was really excited because I haven't seen her for a really long time. We went outside, went shopping, and got some fro-yo at Menchies. When we went shopping a got an awesome hat which I can't wait to wear tomorrow.
Spent the rest of the day working on my MGP. I'm almost finished all my genres. I have to finish up 2 tomorrow and then I should be fine.
I'm really missing my dad right now especially since I have early morning practice tomorrow and I have to bike at 7 am to get there on time.
My song of the day is Seventeen by Avril Lavigne. It's from her new album and it's god but I feel like she was borrowing ideas from other songs like Fifteen and Mine by Taylor Swift and The One That Got Away by Katy Perry.

November 10 2013:
Today's the final day of blogging for a classmate. Weird but cool (in a weird) way for me. I learned that my classmates do, in fact, face the same problems as me and knowing that they go through the same things motivates me to do better.
I spent a good portion of my day shopping with my mom. Normally, shopping is super annoying, but today it was okay since we were getting a laptop and desktop.
I spent a lot of my day working on the MGP but since I get distracted easily, not much got done. It's pretty boring and I haven't been doing my other homework since I figured that the MGP is a priority. Hopefully, I'll be finished by tomorrow.

November 9 2013:
I spent my morning eating and working on the socials project. Since I didn't have Chinese, I spent a lot of time at martial arts.
I'm working on the MGP and I'm really hoping it takes less time then I thought. This is because my pace is super slow and I probably won't finish this term let alone for the 14th.
Today was pretty uneventful; typical Saturday.

November 8 2013:
Today was a pretty normal Friday other than the remembrance day assembly.
There was supposed to be dissection club after school but the leader, Mr. Shieh is at IB science 12 camp or something along those lines. I ended up waiting for about 20-25 before deciding to leave since everyone else was leaving. I spent about 30 min in the cafeteria doing some homework.
I was going to martial arts today and I think that I need to put some extra time into it since I'm doing a belt test in December. I'm hoping I can find time because with homework, basketball, and other things I'm struggling a bit.

November 7 2013:
I was really glad to have an early dismissal. Too bad I didn't take advantage of it. What a pity, I could have gotten a lot done.
I really need to get going on the MGP and the socials project because they are due pretty soon. Because of the deadline, I'm feeling a bit stressed (not sure if that's a good sign or not).
I'm really glad that I made the basketball team. It's a little annoying that all the practices are after school. I think it's better if they are before school because:
1. It gets you ready for the school day/wakes you up
2. It doesn't cut into your homework time (and extra-curricular activities)

November 6 2013:
Today in French, my teacher, Ms. Chaqui played a video which we had already watched twice. I guess she didn't think it was enough so she played it yet again. This time we had a worksheet/handout to fill out. The handout was pretty easy and it was quite boring to have to sit through the 40-50 minute video (not to mention having already seen in thrice).
The 3rd basketball tryout was later on today. We've been cut down to 20 people at this point. I wasn't that tired today but I'm really glad there is a break coming up with the parent-teacher conferences and the long weekend. I was kind of angry with myself since when I was wiping my shoe, I cut my hand on a rock, then, on top of that, I jammed my finger during the shoot around. At least they are only small cuts but I don't want to open them up and make them worse.

November 5 2013:
Last night was the final night of the homelessness project. I was really glad to be back in my cozy bed. The homelessness project has taught me to pity those people who are less fortunate than us by literally putting myself in their shoes. Even though I will probably never have to experience homelessness, I know, partially, what it feels like. I'll always be full of guilt whenever I pass a homeless person and when I don't give them anything knowing that I haven't helped them in any way.
Today was the 2nd basketball tryout. We did lines and after just 1 set I started to feel light-headed and I felt like I was going to puke. I have no clue why since we did 20 sets last time and I wasn't as tired then as I was after doing just 1. The fact that the gym floor was super slippery just added to the difficulty. Because of the lines, my arms, back, lungs, legs were aching so much I could barely feel them. This took its toll later on when I was struggling to do my layups. The scrimmage was okay. I managed to score a few baskets even though I was extremely tired. I didn't cause any turnovers and I played decent defense. Not too confident about my dribble though, because when I tried doing a crossover my feet kept slipping on the gym floor. Anyway, I'm really tired and I have some homework to get done...

November 4 2013:
(This week I'm blogging for Jonathan. I'm going try my best to do a first-person POV. We'll see how that goes...)
I'm on night #6 of the homelessness project. I chose the option of sleeping in my garage and found that concrete is not very comfortable. It was really difficult to try and sleep because the ground was cold and hard and now my back is aching. Begging for food from my mom isn't too difficult, though I can't imagine how humiliating it must be to beg (for money, food, clothes, etc.) in public from strangers. Tomorrow (after night #7) I'll sum up what the experience has taught me.
School was pretty uneventful other than the new timetable rotaition (3412=PE, Math, French, Performing Arts). The 2nd basketball tryout is tomorrow as well as a socials test. The test really shouldn't be that difficult.

November 3 2013:
Last night I tried sleeping outside. at 1:20 am though, I got really uncomfortable and came back inside. I wasn't cold, wasn't uncomfortable, I was just really scared. On Halloween we were telling scary stories in film and as I was laying outside I started remembering all these stories and I was really scared that something was going to get me.
I'm really happy because I got a case for my phone so it's ready to go for school! My old phone is pretty busted so I'm glad to get a new one...
My song of the day is Day Tripper by the Beatles. It's a really cool riff and a great tune.

November 2 2013:
Today started off as days normally do. Except for the fact that I woke up by the fridge... I had guitar, then swimming. Then I said to myself "Hey! Why don't I do that transit adventure thing-ama-bob that I was supposed to do?" So that's what I did. That should be up soon in the "Applied Skills" section.
I am really happy because I got a new phone! It's not allowed to leave the house until I get a good case for it but it's perfect timing because I accidentally cracked my phone a couple days ago (I didn't get a new phone because I cracked my old one).
I am so scared for tonight. I'm going to get NO sleep. But then again, that's what I say every night and it's never really that bad...
My song of the day is Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey. I prefer the original version. I think it suits the song much better.

November 1 2013:
I was so tired today. I woke up at 2, 5, and 6 am last night. At 6 is was like "screw it! There's 1 1/2 hours until I have to wake up. Might as well actually sleep!" So I pulled down my blanket from my bed and I stayed on the floor and I used the makeshift pillow and I had no heat but I had my blanket so it was all good. Tonight I will be sleeping in front of the fridge instead of outside. I begged my parents for food (I know, I know... It's a cop-out) but all we had was this really gross pasta so I guess I ate poorly today anyway.
My song of the day is Coming Home by Diddy. I really like the song and we used it in film class a while back.
