September 30 2013:
Today I escaped the rain because I started raining after I got to school. Then I escaped it once again because I had volleyball and it ended after the rain.
I'm really liking high school. I like all of my teachers ( at least a bit) and the work is a challenge but not overly challenging. I think I was really worried before because high school seemed so big, and I never thought that I would see any of my other friends ever again. The fact that I was wrong is really comforting.
My song of the day is No Place Like Home by Marianas Trench. I hope I didn't already mention this song but it's a really good song!

September 29 2013:
Today I found myself at a backstage tour of the Vancouver Opera facility. They had an open house with performances and tours and my mom and I decided to go. The best part of the tour was definitely the costume area. It's so cool that they make all the costumes from scratch.
I was making dessert and I needed toasted coconut. So I started toasting the coconut and I forgot about it. I'm lucky I didn't burn down the house. There was so much smoke but my parents weren't there. It was just me, my brother, and my great-aunt. We opened all the windows and doors and while they stood outside I went in the kitchen to check out the situation. In the end it was fine and the smoke took about 30 min to clear out.
My song of the day is Dust in the Wind by Kansas.

September 28 2013:
Today was awesome! The amount of rain was epic! I was at the pool today, having a swimming lesson, and the roof started leaking from all the rain. It was like it was raining indoors!
My dad fixed my old bike because the one that I recently got from a second hand store started creaking. I rode it around and the brakes are so much smoother and so are the gear changes.
My song of the day is Red Hands by Walk Off the Earth. They are a really cool band that started up on YouTube.

September 27 2013:
First Pro-d of the year! YES! An extra day to do homework, get to hang out with friends, and I'm occasionally home alone. Today my friend and I went to Oakridge mall and got popcorn and frozen yogurt and came back to my house and watched a movie and played games. It was pretty awesome.
I had tennis after that and I'm really sore from all the sports I've been doing. Including gym I do 14-15 hours of sports a week. Which is on average 2 hours a day. Which is a lot.
My song of the day is Float On by Modest Mouse. The lyrics are more on the adult side, I really like the song and it's one of those "these bad things happen but we just move on" kind of songs.

September 26 2013:
I feel so ashamed... I didn't blog yesterday or the day before even though I had promised myself that I wouldn't miss any more days. Anyway, today I got my volleyball uniform with the number 13. I like the sound of thir-teen, it's Taylor Swift's lucky number (and she's pretty successful), and it's my age. So I though the choice would be appropriate.
I was really happy when Julie made it onto the Student Council because I really liked her speech and her posters and I think she's a great person. It would have been cool if more Synergy people made it on the Student Council but at least there's one.
My song of the day is Stay Stay Stay by Taylor Swift because I just used her lucky number as the number on my jersey and I really like the up-beat-ness of the song which I need because I'm still sick.

September 23 2013:
The verdict is in... I am sick. I hope I'll feel better by tomorrow morning, but who really knows. Other than the cough and runny nose, I noticed that I was sick because my house seemed so cold while my parents were complaining about the heat. So we took my temperature, and, once again, I'm sick.
I spent my time at home reading and curling up into a ball to try and get warmer. I finished reading a book and it was really good. I think the writer was really clever in the writing process.
My song of day is Walking on Sunshine because that's what I wish I was doing.

September 22 2013:
Rain, rain, rain, and more rain. But, I actually like the rain. Too bad I couldn't enjoy it though. I am really sick today. Well, it's not like a fever or anything, it's just that my nose is so stuffed to the point that I can't breathe.
I made dinner but it was kind of a flop. The food turned out okay, I guess.
My song of the day is Flaws by Caitlin Crosby. It's just about how imperfect should be the new perfect.

September 21 2013:
Arrrrrggggg... I forgot to blog yesterday!  That's the second time I've forgotten. Today was a lot of homework and a bit of guitar but not much else. I've decided to go all out with my sketch up model and I spent the day measuring my house. I know that most of the details I probably wont even have time to add but just in case.
My song of the day is Breakdown by Tiffany Alvord. She has a great voice and I really like the music.

September 19 2013:
Today in gym we were timed for how fast we could run 2 laps around the south field. I'm glad to say I finished 3rd with a time of 4 minutes and 16 seconds. We also got evaluated on our rugby skills and hopefully I did well in that.
In math today we had a quiz and even when we were called to homeroom, I was shaking because I was so nervous. Tests really scare me even if I know I know that material.
My song of the day is Lucky One  by Taylor Swift. I think that it's a great song about the overwhelming feeling of stardom (even though I can't relate).

September 18 2013:
Arrrrrgggg... I feel so bad because I forgot to blog yesterday. But nothing really interesting so there wasn't much to blog about anyway.
Today after volleyball practice one of the girls went to her locker and noticed that all her clothes were missing. O f course everyone went into a panic to see if their clothes were still there and, strangely enough, the girls clothes were the only things that went missing. I felt really bad for her but at the same time she was lucky that she didn't have any valuables in there.
My song of the day is Wake me up by Avicii. I really like the message of the music video because I think it means even if you feel like you don't belong there is always someplace where people will accept you.

September 16 2013:
Back to school today, and I was ready. Homework=check, lunch=check, willingness to wake up at 6 am for volleyball=kinda-maybe-sorta check. You know it's a bad sign when you wake up and it's still dark outside and no other houses have lights on...
My song of the day is All to myself  by Marianas Trench because my friend and I were signing it at the same time and it started a really long conversation and I learned a lot about her.

Sunday 15 September 2013

September 15 2013:
Today we did more moving. I realized just how much junk I have. I got rid of so much stuff. I either threw it away or gave it to a charity. During the rain today I went outside and danced around. I think I'm going to make it a habit to dance around in the rain. It makes you feel so free, that you don't care about what's going on around you.
I practiced riding my bike to school so that I wouldn't be confused later on. It takes about 10 minutes (2.4 km). We got this really old bike at a second hand store so that I could ride it to school and it wouldn't be appealing for anyone to steal it.
My song of the day is Darlin by Avril Lavigne. I really like it because it sounds like she's giving advice to someone like a younger sibling and I can relate to that because of the age gap between me and my brother.

Saturday 14 September 2013

September 14 2013:
Today we did more moving. The new house is really starting to feel like home. My room is pretty much finished and same with my parents' room. We also had someone come in and set up the wi-fi.
I spent a lot of time today familiarizing myself with house and getting to know where everything is. I've figured out my route to school and I know where the closest grocery stores and libraries are.
My song of the day is Begin Again by Taylor Swift because this move is like a new era. Even though the topic of the song is love it has a similar idea to what I'm trying to get at.

September 13 2013:
Friday the 13th... oooooh, scary. I have to say, nothing really bad or unlucky happened today. Of course I had the occasional mishap but that happens every day. Even though nothing bad ever happens to my, Friday the 13th still scares me.
After school I walked home and saw the moving truck and right away, as soon as I get in the door, I'm moving boxes. The move was actually really useful in finding things that I lost and really getting to sort through my stuff. I got rid of a bunch of stuff and I found a couple things too.
My song of the day is Veronique by Trois Gars Su'l Sofa. I saw this group when they were just starting out a couple years ago when they performed at Kitsilano Secondary and today in french class we were listening to that song.

September 12 2013:
I made the team!!!!!!!! YES! I made the volleyball team and we had a practice right after school. The practice was definitely much more intense than in elementary school. We did so many burpees it's unbelievable. The practice ran for 2 hours and I didn't get home until 6:15.
We're moving tomorrow, Friday the 13Th... So my bed is all that's left. I hoping to get some good shots of my house for the Applied skills drawing project though.
My song of the day is Applause by Lady Gaga because my friend, Tania, was signing it nonstop today and it's stuck in my head

September 11 2013:
Today there were more volley ball tryouts and I have to say, that was the most nervous I've ever been for a school sport. The final team will go up tomorrow morning and, fingers crossed, I hope I make it on the team.
I also finished packing my room. All that's left is the bare minimum, no books, no keyboard, we took down all the pictures... So right now I'm looking at a pretty empty space.
My song of the day is Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift because my life has really changed a ton.

September 10 2013:
I made the cut!!!!!! I made it past the first cut for the volleyball team! I have another round of tryouts tomorrow and who knows how that will go but for now I'm just enjoying the fact that I made it past the first round!
The heat today was pretty intense. Once I got home I went to the store and bought some ice cream to cool off. I also drank sooo much water and had ALL the windows open.
My song of the day is Change by Taylor Swift because I think high school will definitely change me.

T1-B4

T1-B4: September 9 2013
I got to school this morning and went straight to PE. In PE we got our PE strips. I got a medium shirt and small shorts. Seems reasonable, right? The clothes are so big! The shirts is way to long and the pants, too. The strip makes it really difficult to run in PE.
Today were the volleyball tryouts and I went. I think I did an okay job but I'm really nervous for when the first cut will be posted tomorrow. I guess we'll see...
My song of the day is Come As You Are by Nirvana. I know I may not look it but I really like Nirvana because they were so original and they did their own thing and weren't worried about fitting in at ALL.

T1-B3

T1-B3: September 8 2013
My room is practically empty. All that's left is my bed and my desk. Oh, and of course the lamp. We moved a bunch more stuff to the new house and we set up our trampoline! I am so happy to have a trampoline and I think it will definitely provide hours of fun.
We went to have dinner at a sushi place and we order the same amount as we normally do when we go to any other sushi place. The rolls came and they were HUGE! One of the rolls had the same diameter as an orange or an apple!
My song of the day is Beautiful  by Hedley. I really like the lyrics because I find them very poetic, especially the first verse. Plus, Hedley is a great band and most of their song are pretty awesome.

T1-B2: September 7 2013
Today I had my first guitar lesson since school ended for the summer. I normally take a break during the summer and practice by myself. My guitar teacher has a really good taste in music and we play a lot of great songs. I am currently learningKiss by Prince.
I made dinner today for my family and I, of course, had a mishap. I opened the lid on something I was cooking and the condensation on the lid dripped on to my leg and i got a pretty bad burn. Ouch. Today was much more basic, no profound thoughts about moving, no beautiful sunsets.
My song of the day is Everybody Hurts by Avril Lavigne. I think that the song is very emotional and relatable to anyone who may be going through a tough time. It's always good to know you're not alone.

T1-B1: September 6 2013
We've been packing up my room and I'm finding so much old stuff. Right now I'm looking at my empty bookshelf and I think it's really setting in that we're moving. I think the move is going to be great but it's always hard to leave a place. I felt a bit after dinner though because we had pasta and Caesar salad and those are the best comfort foods in the world. I wish I had some for lunch because I started getting flustered and nervous about the whole high school situation. It's a big change but I mean so many people before me have gone through it so I should be fine, right?
I just saw a gorgeous sunset. I took a picture to post here but the photo did not do it justice. The bright orange sky with the looming darkness coming over it...Wow.
My song of the day is called Shooting Star it's for a movie called "Standing Ovation" and the movie is corny but the song is great. I think the message is to just go for it and that's what I plan to do.
